A pituitary extract was used to induce multiple ovulations in mares to determine whether day-7 embryos from multiple ovulators were viable as indicated by their ability to develop when transferred to recipients. There were more ovulations/donor for induced multiple-ovulating mares than for control single-ovulating mares (4.6 +/- 0.5 vs 1.0 +/- 0.0; n=14). The embryo collection rate per ovulation was similar for multiple ovulators (0.6 +/- 0.1 embryos/ovulation) and single ovulators (0.7 +/- 0.1). The embryo collection rate per donor, therefore, was higher (P<0.01) for the multiple ovulators (2.9 +/- 0.7 vs 0.7 +/- 0.1). The transfer success rate per embryo at day 21 was different (P<0.05) among recipients which received an embryo from control single-ovulating donors (7 8 ), multiple ovulators from which a single embryo was recovered (2 2 ), and multiple ovulators from which multiple embryos were recovered (9 19 ). The recipient pregnancy rate/donor at day 21 was 88% (7 8 ) for single-ovulating controls and 138% (11 8 ) for induced multiple ovulators. Results indicate that the survivability of day-7 embryos from multiple-ovulating donors was reduced. However, despite the reduced survival rate/embryo, the number of pregnant recipients/donor was increased by induction of multiple ovulations because of the increased number of embryos available for transfer.  相似文献

The influence of exogenous progesterone on the development of equine oviductal embryos was determined based upon the recovery of Day-7 uterine blastocysts from treated mares (n=13) that were given 450 mg progesterone daily between Days 0 and 6 and from untreated control mares (n=13). Daily administration of 450 mg progesterone in oil significantly (P<0.02) increased serum progesterone concentrations in the treated mares. There was no significant difference in the recovery rate of Day-7 embryos between treated and control mares (8/13 versus 6/13, respectively). Embryonic development, assessed by morphologic evaluation, embryo diameter, and number of cell nuclei was not significantly different for embryos from treated and from control mares. The results of this study indicate that administration of progesterone beginning on the day of ovulation does not affect the embryo recovery rate or embryonic development, based on evaluation of uterine blastocysts recovered at Day 7 after ovulation.  相似文献

The aim of the experiment was to determine the effect of a year-to-year prolonged daylength on the patterns of equine reproductive activity and results of embryo recovery. Experiments using Konik Polski mares were conducted over four reproduction seasons. Five mares were exposed to a regimen of artificially prolonged daylength (APD) and another five mares in a control group were kept under conditions of natural daylight. Both the control and experimental groups were examined for appearance of estrus, ovulation and also for the state of their coats. A single stallion was used for breeding all of the mares. The embryos were recovered nonsurgically 6 to 9 days after ovulation. All of the mares exposed to APD showed increased ovarian activity, which commenced earlier than in the control group. About 19% more ovulations were detected in the experimental group. The average number of ovulations per lighted mare per year was 15.3, while in the control group it was 12.4 ovulations (P<0.05). However, the embryo recovery rate and total number of embryos obtained from the mares exposed to APD did not exceed the number of embryos collected from the control mares (P<0.05). Modification of daylength had a visible effect on the mares by producing a change in their coats.  相似文献

The efficiency of superovulating mares with an enriched fraction of equine follicle-stimulating hormone (feFSH) and an equine pituitary extract (EPE) with similar FSH content but differing in the LH amount was compared. Mares were randomly assigned to an feFSH (n = 5) or EPE (n = 5) treatment. The experimental period was of 2 successive estrous cycles, with the first cycle as the control. At Days 6 and 7 of the estrous cycle, the mares received 250 micrograms i.m. cloprostenol. The treatments consisted of daily injections of 25 mg feFSH or EPE beginning on Day 6 post ovulation. Mares were inseminated every other day until the last ovulation was detected. When the mares in the control and treatment cycles developed at least 1 or 2 > or = 35-mm follicle, respectively, the treatment was interrupted, and a single injection of EPE (25 mg, i.v.) was administered to induce ovulation(s). Nonsurgical embryo recovery was performed 6 or 7 d after ovulation in both control and treatment cycles. The number of ovulations per mare was not significantly different (P > 0.05) between feFSH and EPE groups, but both were higher (P < 0.05) than that of the control cycle. The number of recovered embryos per ovulation was similar (P > 0.05) for control, feFSH and EPE groups. The high amount of LH presented in EPE did not affect the superovulatory response of the mares. Superovulatory treatments increased the ovulation rate of mares but did not affect the embryo recovery rate per ovulation.  相似文献

The dynamics of ovarian follicular development depend on a timely interaction of gonadotropins and gonadal feedback in the mare. The development and efficacy of genetically cloned recombinant equine gonadotropins (reFSH and reLH) increase follicular activity and induce ovulation, respectively, but an optimum embryo recovery regimen in superovulated mares has not been established. The objective of this study was to determine if treatment with reFSH followed by reLH would increase the embryo per ovulation ratio and the number of embryos recovered after superovulation in mares. Sixteen estrous cycling mares of light horse breeds (4-12 years) were randomly assigned to one of two groups: Group 1; reFSH (0.65mg)/PBS (n=8) and Group 2; reFSH (0.65mg)/reLH (1.5mg) (n=8). On the day of a 22-25mm follicle post-ovulation mares were injected IV twice daily with reFSH for 3 days (PGF(2α) given IM on the second day of treatment) and once per day thereafter until a follicle or cohort of follicles reached 29mm after which either PBS or reLH was added and both groups injected IV twice daily until the presence of a 32mm follicles, when reFSH was discontinued. Thereafter, mares were injected three times daily IV with only PBS or reLH until a majority of follicles reached 35-38mm when treatment was discontinued. Mares were given hCG IV (2500IU) to induce ovulation and bred. Embryo recovery was performed on day 8 day post-treatment ovulation. Daily jugular blood samples were collected from the time of first ovulation until 8 days post-treatment ovulation. Blood samples were analyzed for LH, FSH, estradiol, progesterone and inhibin by validated RIA. Duration of treatment to a ≥35mm follicle(s) and number of ovulatory size follicles were similar between reFSH/reLH and reFSH/PBS treated mares. The number of ovulations was greater (P<0.01) in the reFSH/reLH group, while the number of anovulatory follicles was less (P<0.05) compared to the reFSH/PBS group. Number of total embryos recovered were greater in reFSH/reLH mares than in the reFSH/PBS mares (P≤0.01). The embryo per ovulation ratio tended to be greater (P=0.07) in the reFSH/reLH mares. Circulating concentrations of estradiol, inhibin, LH and progesterone were not statistically different between groups. Plasma concentrations of FSH were less (P<0.01) in the reFSH/reLH treated mares on days 0, 1, 4, 6, 7 and 8 post-treatment ovulation. In summary, reFSH with the addition of reLH, which is critical for final follicular and oocyte maturation, was effective in increasing the number of ovulations and embryos recovered, as well as reduce the number of anovulatory follicles, making this a more viable option than treatment with reFSH alone. Further evaluation is needed to determine the dose and regimen of reFSH/reLH to significantly increase the embryo per ovulation ratio.  相似文献

Six normally cycling mares were immunized 5 times at 3-week intervals with a synthetic porcine inhibin alpha-subunit fragment which had been conjugated to bovine serum albumin and emulsified in Freund's incomplete adjuvant. Immunized mares ovulated a significantly larger (P < 0.01) number of follicles per estrous cycle (2.8 +/- 1.1; range 1 to 8 ovulations) than 14 nonimmunized control mares (1.1 +/- 0.1; range 1 to 2 ovulations). Day-7 embryo recovery rates tended to be higher (P < 0.1) in immunized mares (1.6 +/- 0.5 embryos per flush) than in control mares (0.7 +/- 0.2 embryos per flush). No differences in interovulatory intervals were found between the 2 groups. These results indicate that immunization against inhibin may be useful in inducing development and ovulation of multiple follicles for embryo transfer in the mare.  相似文献

Only one embryo was found in each of 15 pregnant mares in which multiple, synchronous (0 or 1 day apart) ovulations were induced with a pituitary extract. In the brood-farm mares, fewer (P<.05) twin pregnancies were associated with synchronous, double ovulations (0 39 ), than with asynchronous, double ovulations (9 57 ). Higher (P<.05) pregnancy rates (number of mares pregnant, regardless of number of embryos) were obtained in pituitary extract-treated mares with multiple, synchronous ovulations (15 18 ) than in treated mares with single ovulations (6 14 ). Similarily, pregnancy rates were higher (P<.01) in brood-farm mares with double, synchronous ovulations (39 47 ) than in brood-farm mares with single ovulations (1320 2426 ). Our interpretation is that ova produced by synchronous, double ovulations are viable and fertilizable (indicated by higher pregnancy rates), but that one of the resulting embryos is eliminated (indicated by the absence of twins).  相似文献

A completely randomized experimental design was used to investigate the effect of supplemental progesterone on pregnancy rates of recipient mares. Every other recipient mare received daily 200 mg progesterone in oil beginning the day of surgical embryo transfer and lasting until either Day 120 of pregnancy or until pregnancy failure was confirmed by ultrasound. Progesterone supplementation did not affect pregnancy rate (P > 0.05). Overall, embryos that did not result in pregnancy were of greater mean diameter than embryos that resulted in pregnancy (P < 0.05). Pregnancy rates tended (P < 0.1) to be greater in recipients that were detected to be ovulating the same day or prior to that of the donor and that had been supplemented with progesterone (75 %) as opposed to untreated control mares of the same synchrony group (40 %). Progesterone supplementation did not affect the incidence of embryonic loss; however, there was a slightly higher loss of pregnancies between Day 15 and 30 in treated versus untreated recipients. There was no effect (P > 0.05) of treatment on pregnancy rate for embryos recovered from fertile versus subfertile donor mares. However, overall, there tended (P < 0.1) to be fewer pregnancies with embryos recovered from subfertile (50 %) as compared to fertile donors (75 %). It was concluded that supplemental progesterone at the dosage and frequency described was not beneficial in improving pregnancy rates in cyclic recipient mares after surgical embryo transfer.  相似文献

Equine pituitary extract (EPE), has been reported to induce multiple ovulation in mares, however ovulation rates are poor in comparison to those obtained in other species. Attempts to improve the effectiveness of EPE for induction of superovulation in cyclic mares has focused on daily frequency of EPE treatment. Two experiments were performed to compare the ovarian response of cyclic mares given EPE once or twice-daily. Mares were assigned to one of two treatment groups 6 to 8 days after ovulation: prostaglandin was given once and EPE (25 mg) was given once daily (Group 1) or twice daily (Group 2). In Experiment 1, more (P < 0.05) follicles > or = 35 mm were detected in mares treated with EPE twice daily (6.1 +/- 3.1) than in mares treated once a daily (2.0 +/- 0.6). In a second experiment, the embryo recovery rates of mares given the two EPE protocols used in Experiment 1 were compared. The number of ovulations per mare was higher (P < 0.05) for mares treated twice-daily (7.1 +/- 5.1, range 3 to 18) than for mares treated once daily (2.4 +/- 1.8, range 1 to 6). The number of embryos produced per mare was higher (P < 0.05) in mares in Group 2 (3.5) than in Group 1 (1.6). Although it is not clear whether the increased ovulation rate is due specifically to dose or frequency, twice-daily administration of a high dose of EPE significantly improved follicular development, ovulation and embryo recovery over the standard treatment of once-daily injection.  相似文献

The viability of embryos before flushing from donor mares (n = 5) and after transfer to recipient mares (n = 7) was monitored in mare serum by detecting early pregnancy factor (EPF) using the rosette inhibition test (RIT). The EPF activity was measured in donor mares before and after natural mating at natural estrus; after ovulation on Days 2, 5 and 8; and after embryo flushing (Day 8) on Days 8, 9, 10 and 13 after ovulation. The collected embryos were transferred immediately after flushing. The EPF activity in recipient mares were measured on the day of transfer and after embryo transfer on Days 1, 2, 3 and 5. Pregnancy was confirmed on Day 12 to 14 after embryo transfer. The mean EPF activity of donor mares was increased to the pregnant level (> an RI titer score of 10) on Day 2 after ovulation. Two days after flushing the embryos, the EPF activity of donor mares had decreased to the nonpregnant level. Among the 7 recipient mares, 3 mares were diagnosed pregnant on Day 12 after embryo transfer with ultrasound. The EPF activity of the pregnant recipient mares was increased above the minimum level observed in pregnant mares on Days 2 to 3 after transfer. However, among the nonpregnant recipient mares after embryo transfer, the EPF activity of 3 mares remained at the pregnant level only 2 to 3 d and then declined to the nonpregnant level. In one recipient mare, EPF activity did not reach the pregnant level throughout the sample collection. The results of this study indicated that equine EPF can be detected in serum of pregnant mares as early as Day 2 after ovulation. From our observation, we conclude that the measurement of EPF activity is useful for monitoring the in vivo viability of equine embryos and early detection of embryonic death.  相似文献

The objective was to evaluate the potential risks associated with embryo transfer from mares bred with equine arteritis virus (EAV) infective semen. Twenty-six mares were embryo donors, whereas 18 unvaccinated and EAV antibody seronegative mares were embryo recipients. Of the 26 donor mares, 15 were unvaccinated and seronegative for antibodies to EAV and 11 were vaccinated for the first time with a commercially available modified live virus vaccine against EVA before breeding and subsequent embryo transfer. All donor mares were bred with EAV-infective semen from a stallion persistently infected with the virus. Twenty-four embryos were recovered 7 d post-ovulation; all were subjected in sequential order to five washes in embryo flush medium, two trypsin treatments, and five additional washes in embryo flush medium (prior to transfer). Twelve and seven embryos (Grades 1 or 2) were transferred from the non-vaccinated and vaccinated donors, respectively, and pregnancy was established in 3 of 12 and 2 of 7. Perhaps trypsin reduced embryo viability and pregnancy rate. The uterine flush fluid of 11 mares (9 of 15 and 2 of 11 from non-vaccinated and vaccinated donor groups, respectively) was positive for EAV by VI (confirmed by real-time RT-PCR); the wash fluid from the embryos of nine of these mares was negative following 10 washes and two trypsin treatments. However, the embryo wash fluid from two mares was still positive for EAV after all 10 washes and the two trypsin treatments, and one embryo was positive for EAV. Two of 18 recipient mares had seroconverted to EAV 28 d after embryo transfer. Virus was not detected in any fetal tissues or fluids harvested after pregnancies were terminated (60 d). In conclusion, we inferred that the washing protocol of 10 washes and two trypsin treatments did not eliminate EAV from all embryos; due to limitations in experimental design, this requires confirmation. Furthermore, there may be a risk of EAV transmission associated with in vivo embryo transfer from a donor mare inseminated with EAV infective semen.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of three approaches for recovering equine oocytes via transvaginal ultrasound-guided follicular aspiration. Fourteen mares were used as oocyte donors during the spring transition period and physiologic breeding season, and 11 mares were bred for use as oocyte donors during early gestation. In all mares, large (>20 mm) and small (10–20 mm) follicles were aspirated in eight rounds every 10–11 days. In each of the four rounds during the transition period, half the mares received 12.5 mg eFSH once daily for 4 days prior to aspiration. For each of the four rounds during the cycling season, half the mares received 12.5 mg eFSH twice daily for 3 days prior to aspiration. Pregnant mares were aspirated on days 25, 40 and 55 of gestation and received no eFSH. There were more large (>20 mm) follicles in cycling controls (2.25 ± 0.27) and cycling FSH-treated (2.64 ± 0.27) mares than in transitional FSH-treated mares (1.18 ± 0.27). The number of oocytes recovered from small (10–20 mm) follicles varied by mare (P < 0.05) and averaged 1.08 ± 0.22 per aspiration for transitional mares and 1.23 ± 0.22 per aspiration for cycling mares (P > 0.1). The number of oocytes per aspiration from large follicles was greater in cycling FSH-treated mares (0.46 ± 0.09) than in transitional control mares (0.11 ± 0.09). In pregnant mares, more large follicles were present at day 25 than at any other time, and the number of oocytes per aspiration from large follicles was greater at day 25 (0.73 ± 0.16) than at day 55 (0.04 ± 0.18). When compared across all seasons and treatments, the day 25 pregnant mares yielded the greatest number of oocytes per aspiration (2.91 ± 0.66 per mare).  相似文献

To test the hypothesis that an abnormal uterine environment was a cause of early embryonic loss in subfertile mares, morphologically normal embryos were transferred to normal mares (n = 20) and subfertile mares (n = 20), and embryo survival rates were compared. Embryos were recovered nonsurgically at Days 7 to 8 postovulation and transferred surgically to normal and subfertile mares that had ovulated on the same day or within 2 d after a donor. Survival of transferred embryos was monitored by ultrasonography of the recipient mare's uterus from Day 9 through Day 28 postovulation. There were no significant differences (P > 0.5) in the embryo survival rates at Day 12 (11 20 vs 9 20 ) or Day 28 (10 20 vs 8 20 ) for normal or subfertile mares, respectively. The uterine environment of subfertile mares was apparently adequate to support the development of transferred embryos from Days 7 or 8 through Day 28 postovulation.  相似文献

Prostaglandin E2 hastens oviductal transport of equine embryos.   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The hypothesis that treatment of pregnant mares with prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) hastens the oviductal transport of equine embryos was tested by treating bred mares with PGE2 on Day 3 after ovulation and subsequently measuring the rate of hastened oviductal transport (estimated by the uterine embryo recovery rate on Day 4 after ovulation). In a preliminary, noncontrolled experiment, oviductal transport was apparently not hastened after intramuscular, intrauterine, or intraperitoneal PGE2 administration to bred mares (0/6, 0/3, and 0/3 mares, respectively). Oviductal transport appeared to be hastened in 1/13 mares after a single intraoviductal administration of PGE2, and in 2/2 mares after continuous intraoviductal administration of PGE2. In a subsequent, controlled experiment, treatment with a continuous intraoviductal infusion of PGE2 hastened oviductal transport in significantly more (p less than 0.01) mares versus a continuous intraoviductal infusion of vehicle or no treatment (6/11 vs. 0/11 or 0/11 mares, respectively). Unfertilized oocytes and oviductal masses were also recovered from mare uteri after continuous intraoviductal PGE2 administration, but were not recovered after vehicle administration or no treatment. These results support the hypothesis that PGE2 treatment hastens the oviductal transport of equine embryos, and suggest a role for embryonic PGE2 in the initiation of selective oviductal transport in the mare.  相似文献

Multiple ovulations were induced with a pituitary extract in mares, and the development of multiple conceptuses was monitored daily by ultrasound on days 11 to 40. The incidence of abortion (loss of all embryos) was not significantly different between mares with multiple embryos (5 38 mares; 13%) and mares with singletons (4 36 ; 11%). Embryo reduction (elimination of excess embryos) was not detected during the embryo mobility phase (days 11-15) or on the day of fixation of embryos (day 16) in any of 38 mares with multiple embryos. The incidence of postfixation embryo reduction for mares with twins was 64% (18 28 ); however, the incidence for unilateral twins (17 19 ; 89%) was greater (P<0.01) than for bilateral twins (1 9 ; 11%). Reduction of unilateral twin embryos seemed to occur earlier (53% before day 20 and 82% before day 30) than for the set of bilateral twins (day 36). The remaining embryo in all mares in which embryo reduction occurred seemed normal in size and appearance on the last day of examination. However, in four of eighteen mares in which unilateral reduction occurred, the umbilical cord of the remaining embryo was attached in the ventral hemisphere of the all antochorion. This apparent disorientation was not seen in any of 16 bilaterally located embryos or in 16 singletons.  相似文献

Embryo recovery rates from uterine flushings of normal mares on Day 7 or later after ovulation currently range from 55% to 80%. In contrast, pregnancy rates at 14 d in experimental mares are often higher. There appears to be a discrepancy between pregnancy rates and recovery rates of embryos on uterine flushing, indicating that some embryos are not recovered from the uterus on flushing. Per rectum ultrasound examination of the uterus of mares during flushing suggested that in some mares, the infused fluid may accumulate in the uterine body and not extend to contact the entire uterus, even after massage of the filled uterus per rectum. To increase embryo recovery rates, the flusing technique was altered to allow 3 min contact time of the flush fluid with the uterus during each of three flushes. It was thought that during this time, if the embryo was not directly contacted by the infused fluid, mobility of the embryo might cause it to move into the fluid, and thus be collected. This technique was used in 20 flushes on 14 mares, from 7 to 11 d after ovulation. Embryos were recovered on 18 of the 20 flushes. A total of 21 embryos was recovered, for an embryo recovery rate of 105%. The recovery rate from mares with single ovulations was 13/15 (87%); the recovery rate from mares with multiple ovulations was 8/5 (160%). These rates appear to be higher than those obtained previously in our laboratory and those reported by other workers in the field. These results indicate that further investigation into the efficacy of this procedure is warranted.  相似文献

The effect of exercise on mare reproductive efficiency was evaluated by comparing rates of embryo recovery from mares assigned to either an exercise regimen or a non-exercise (control) regimen. Exercised mares were worked daily for 30 min under average ambient conditions of >30 °C and >50% humidity. Mares were inseminated during estrus and subjected to uterine flush for embryo recovery on d 7 after ovulation for two consecutive cycles. After this, mares were allocated to the opposite group and allowed an estrous cycle without reproductive manipulation; then insemination and uterine flushing were conducted on two more consecutive cycles. Prostaglandin F was administered on the day of uterine flush. Mare rectal temperature increased during exercise from a mean of 38 °C to a mean of 39.9 °C. Mares had ovulations from smaller follicles when exercised than they did under control conditions (39.8 ± 0.5 compared with 41.5 ± 0.5 mm diameter; P < 0.05), and had an increased time from PGF administration to subsequent ovulation (8.47 ± 0.337 compared with 9.27 ± 0.294 d; P < 0.05). Embryo recovery from control mares was 22 of 35 (63%). Fewer embryos were recovered from exercised mares (11 of 32, 34%; P < 0.05). The proportion of embryos classified as Grade 1 tended to be less in exercised than in non-exercised mares (4 of 11, 36% compared with 16 of 22, 73%; P = 0.051). These data indicate that exercising mares in a hot and humid environment are associated with changes in ovarian follicle development and ovulation, and a reduction in embryo recovery.  相似文献

Fourteen horse embryos recovered non-surgically on Days 6-8 after ovulation (Day 0) were cooled slowly to - 35 degrees C (7 embryos) or - 40 degrees C (7 embryos) and stored in liquid nitrogen (- 196 degrees C) for 4-98 days. Surgical transfer of the thawed embryos to unmated recipient mares that had ovulated - 2 to + 1 days with respect to the embryo donors resulted initially in the establishment of 4 conceptuses. However, only one mare maintained her pregnancy to term.  相似文献

A rested stallion was introduced daily for 30 days into each of three herds of 20 mares. Observations of sexual and mating behavior were made for one hour. The stallion remained with a herd until another stallion was introduced the following day. Other mares were isolated from stallions and were bred by artificial insemination. The diameter or growth rate of the preovulatory follicle for the six days preceding ovulation and the length of the interovulatory interval for mares which did not become pregnant were not affected significantly by the presence of a stallion. The number of breedings per hour of observation (2.4 ±0.2) and the length of the interval from introduction of a stallion into the herd of mares to first breeding (12 ±1 min) were significantly different among stallions, but the length of the interval between breedings (17 ±2 min) was not. The mean number of breedings per stallion per hour was not affected significantly by the number of posturing (estrous) mares. The number of times that the stallion rebred the same mare when more than one mare postured during the observation hour (49%) was greater (P<0.01) than what would be expected to occur by chance (30%). The hypothesis that breeding occurs preferentially in those estrous mares that are closest to ovulation was not supported, except for significantly lower breeding activity in posturing mares on days 8 and 7 before ovulation and on days 0 (day of ovulation) and ?1 (26% bred) than on days 6 to 1 (52%).  相似文献

The hypothesis that equine embryos initiate oviductal transport in mares was tested by placing day 6 uterine embryos in the oviducts of day 2 (n = 10) or day 5 (n = 10) recipient mares and attempting to collect the embryos from the uterus 48 h later. To determine whether the surgical transfer procedure initiated oviductal transport, medium alone was placed in the oviducts of day 2 (n = 10) inseminated mares (sham transfer), and uterine embryo collections were attempted 48 h later. Embryos were transported through the oviduct of day 2 recipients by day 4 (instead of day 5 to 6) in six of ten mares, which was not significantly less (P greater than 0.1) than in day 5 recipients (9 of 10). Oviductal transport was not primarily initiated by the surgical transfer procedure, since oviductal transport occurred in only one sham transfer. There was no significant difference (P greater than 0.1) in the diameter of embryos placed in the oviducts of day 2 and day 5 recipient mares (180 +/- 13.8 versus 187 +/- 11.3 microns, respectively). However, embryos collected from the uterus were significantly smaller (P less than 0.05) in day 2 than in day 5 recipients (375 +/- 85.4 versus 659 +/- 43.6 microns, respectively). One uterine embryo had shed its zona pellucida before being placed in, and transported through, the oviduct of the recipient mare.  相似文献
