The trend of species diversity and spatiotemporal distribution of spherical radiolarians of the genus Entactinia Foreman, 1963 in the Permian Period is analyzed. The center of origin of Permian entactinians in the Cis-Ural Paleobasin is established in the area of the modern interfluve of the Ural River and latitudinal current of the Belaya River on the Southern Urals. It is shown that the species composition of this genus almost completely changed in certain Permian epochs. Two forefather species of each new pleiad of Early, Middle, and Late Permian are revealed: Entactinia parapycnoclada and E. tyrrelli. Two new species of the Lower Permian radiolarians from the Southern Urals and Northern Mugodzhary, E. chernykhi sp. nov. and E. subquadrata sp. nov., are described.  相似文献

Migrations of rodents in the zone of local radioactive contamination (East Urals Radioactive Trace, Southern Urals) at different phases of population dynamics are analyzed for the first time. The absence of any isolation of the rodents in the zone of this radioactive trace is convincingly demonstrated and the migration distances are estimated. As is shown, migration decreases the probability for transfer and fixation of adaptations in the chain of generations in vagile rodent species and increases the within-population genetic diversity of animals in adjacent regions. The need to consider the migration factor in a wide range of studies on assessment of biological effects in the zones of local technogenic contamination is confirmed.  相似文献

The Argazi reservoir on the Miass River, the oldest reservoir in the Southern Urals, has been investigated. In total 49 species and forms of zooplankton are identified, including new and rare species for the fauna of the Urals. Throughout the reservoir zooplankton has high species diversity and considerable biomass (up to 11 g/m3). Rotifers are the leading group in the plankton of the reservoir. Compared to the early 1960s, the abundance and biomass of zooplankton has increased by 5–10 times. The disappearance of some plankton forms and the emergence of new ones, as well as an increased number of rotifers and some crustaceans by 1–2 orders of magnitude, are noted. The influence of three main factors that could lead to long-term changes in zooplankton—eutrophication, heavy metals pollution, and global warming—are considered. The last factor seems to be the most important.  相似文献

The population structure of common juniper (Juniperus communis L.) growing in the Cis-Urals and Southern Urals has been studied using 17 morphological traits of generative and vegetative organs. A multivariate analysis of ten coenopopulations has recognized three phenotypically different local populations: Cis-Ural, forest Cis-Ural forest-steppe, and Southern Ural mountain populations. The Cis-Ural forest population is strictly associated with lowland pine forests of the northwestern part of the Bashkir Cis-Urals. The Cis-Ural forest-steppe population is located in the northwestern part of the Bashkir Cis-Urals and the southeastern part of the Udmurt Cis-Urals. The Southern Ural mountain population is located in the central part of the Southern Urals and is associated mainly with mountain pine and dark coniferous forests. The last population is divided into forest and forest-edge subpopulations; the first one is represented by typical undergrowth locations, whereas the second is associated with open steppelike slopes and forest edges. In general, based on morphological traits of generative organs, the revealed local subpopulations hold an intermediate position between the Eastern European and Siberian populations of common juniper. Based on the morphological traits of vegetative organs, Cis-Ural populations are considered related to the populations of the European part of Russia, whereas the mountain Southern Ural population resemble Siberian populations. Concerning morphological traits of generative organs, the intrapopulation phenotypic diversity of common juniper is higher for mountain habitats; in the case of vegetative organs, the maximum diversity is observed for lowland habitats. The character of phenotypic differentiation determines the need to conserve the gene pool of common juniper of the Cis-Urals and southern Urals on a population basis.  相似文献

The first characterization of the genetic variability in populations of S. flavicollis on the eastern border of the range is presented. Seven individuals from the most northeastern habitat of the species (Middle Urals) were karotyped. No deviations from the standard chromosome set, either by the chromosome number or morphology, were revealed. Analysis of the mtDNA cytochrome b gene sequences (1133 bp) in 44 individuals from five populations on the eastern border of the species range (Middle and Southern Urals) resulted in identification of 17 haplotypes. All haplotypes were new and not found earlier in other parts of the species range. The genetic diversity indices and analysis of the demographic and genetic structure indicate a relatively recent origin of the populations under study as a result of rapid expansion. Phylogenetic analysis (97 haplotypes, including the GenBank data) showed that all haplotypes described at the eastern border of the range belonged to the same phylogroup distributed in the Balkan region, Northern and Eastern Europe, and Russia (Samara oblast). Close relationships between the examined populations and the populations from the northern part of the species range in Eastern Europe was demonstrated.  相似文献

Summary In order to establish a refined biostratigraphic subdivision and correlation of the Uppermost Carboniferous/Lower Permian deposits of the Southern Alps (Carnic Alps, Karavanke Mountains; Austria/Italy/Slovenia), two major microfossil groups (fusulinoideans, conodonts) were investigated within the same sample. The fusulinoidean species diversity (71 species, including five new species and three new subspecies) and generic composition were reviewed and complemented. Additionally, the data on fusulinoidean assemblages were supplemented by co-occurring conodont faunas (seven species). Accompanying studies on material from the type sections of the Southern Urals (Russia) were made to improve the biostratigraphic correlation with the Russian standard zonation and to discuss paleobiogeographical aspects of the faunal associations. An integrated microfacies analysis of the sampled material in the Southern Alps serves to evaluate the relationships between certain genera and specific microfacies types. The fusulinoidean fauna of the Lower “Pseudoschwagerina” Limestone is of late Gzhelian age. The Carboniferous/Permian boundary is close to the base of the Grenzland Formation, which covers the entire Asselian and a part of the Sakmarian. The Upper “Pseudoschwagerina” Limestone and Trogkofel Limestone are Lake Sakmarian to Artinskian. The studies sequences in the Karavanke Mountains. formerly known as “carbonate and clastic Trogkofel beds”, correlate to the Lower “Pseudoschwagerina” Limestone, respectively with parts of the Grenzland Formation. Due to the lithologic differences, new formation names (Dolzanova Soteska Fm., Born Fm.) were introduced for the so-called “Trogkofel” Limestone along the Dolzanova Soteska. Whereas late Gzhelian/Asselian fusulinoidean faunas of the Southern Alps correspond to the Southern Uralian faunas to a large extent, Sakmarian and Artinskian faunas reveal an increasing divergence in species and genus composition. Climatic as well as geographic barriers may have prevennted the dispersal of Paleotethyan taxa into the Southern Urals. Biostratigraphic correlation of Sakmarian to Artinskian deposits is therefore possible only on the basis of the sparse conodont faunas.  相似文献

In the Eastern Siberian branch, the neighboring races differ mainly in the number or set of metacentric chromosomes. Based on the author’s investigation and literature data, a list of flea beetles of the Southern Urals is compiled for the first time. It includes 136 species belonging to 16 genera; the occurrence of 88 species is proved by the author’s material. Five species are recorded for the region for the first time. Genetic variation in 24 populations of Siberian fir Abies sibirica Lebed. from the Urals, West Siberia, East Siberia, South Siberia, and the Baikal region were examined using allozyme markers. Three out of fifteen allozyme loci proved to be polymorphic. Heterozygosity He was 6.6-9.6%, which is substantially lower than that in other widely spread boreal conifers. Our results suggest that the Siberian fir populations are subdivided into four geographic groups: (1) the Baikal Lake group, (2) the Sayan and the Altai group, (3) the Middle and Southern Urals group, and (4) Subpolar and Northern Urals group. This pattern of geographic differentiation may be explained by the preservation of the Siberian fir during the last glacial maximum (18 000-22000 years B.P.) in isolated refugia with subsequent recolonization of the present area. FST in the populations examined was 10.16%, which is comparable to the estimate for Larix sibirica (7.9%), a conifer species having a similar range and pattern of geographic population differentiation.  相似文献

The American mink (Neovison vison) and pine marten (Martes martes) are the most common mustelid species in mountain forests of the Southern Urals. The bulk of the diet (85.3%) in the American mink consists of small mammals (35.8%), insects (22.7%), gastropods (14.1%), and fish (12.7%). In the pine marten, the main components comprising 79.6% of the diet are vegetable foods (29.8%), small mammals (27.0%), and insects (22.8%). The low diversity of their food spectra is accounted for by landscape and ecological features of the study region. The abundance of rodents is low, their distribution has a mosaic pattern, and other kinds of food are more abundant near rivers and streams, which explains the preference of both mustelid species for riparian biotopes. The breadth of trophic niches in the pine marten and American mink are 1.67 and 1.62, respectively, and the coefficient of their overlap is 0.75.  相似文献

Altica filipendulae sp. n. is described from the Southern Urals. The new species is most closely related to A. longicollis (Allard) and differs from it in the narrower terete body with less prominent humeri, shallower antebasal depression of the pronotum, details of the aedeagus structure, and in the host plant. Aim The diversity changes that occurred in Central European forests during the early Holocene can be better understood using ecological knowledge of modern analogues of these forests, which occur in far Eastern Europe. Here we compare the diversity of vascular plants, bryophytes and snails among different forest types of the Southern Urals to provide insights into the palaeoecology of the vanished Central European forests. Location Southern Ural Mountains, Bashkortostan, Russia. Methods We recorded all species of vascular plants, ground-dwelling bryophytes and land snails, and measured biotic and abiotic variables, in 100-m2 plots located in four forest types dominated by different trees: Pinus sylvestris–Larix sibirica, Betula pendula–Populus tremula, Quercus robur and Acer platanoides–Tilia cordata–Ulmus glabra. These types correspond to the chronosequence of forest communities that occurred in Central Europe in the early Holocene. Results The species richness of herb-layer plants was most affected by the canopy-transmitted light. The former three forest types had open canopy and were rich in species, whereas the Acer–Tilia–Ulmus forests were darker and poor in species. The species richness of ground-dwelling bryophytes decreased from coniferous to broad-leaved deciduous forests. In contrast, the highest species richness of snails was in the Acer–Tilia–Ulmus forests owing to the higher calcium content in the litter of these trees. Main conclusions Based on the modern analogue of the Southern Ural forests, we propose the hypothesis that the late-glacial open-canopy pine and larch forests of Central European lowlands were rich in light-demanding species of vascular plants, many of which were also typical of tall-grass steppes or mesic grasslands. They also contained several species of ground-dwelling bryophytes. The spread of birch, aspen and oak in the early Holocene reduced the local species richness of ground-dwelling bryophytes but not of vascular plants. The subsequent spread of elm, lime, maple and ash caused canopy closure, a retreat of the light-demanding herbs and a decline in the local species richness of vascular plants. Besides the increased shading by these tree species, their litter enriched soils in calcium, and enhanced decomposition and nutrient cycling. This supported an increase in the species richness of land snails.  相似文献

The conodont succession in the Upper Devonian facially different sections of northeastern European Russia (Chernyshev Ridge, Subpolar and Polar Urals, Pai-Khoi) are studied. The sections are subdivided and correlated taking into account the global standards for stages. The Frasnian Montagne Noire zonation (Klapper, 1989) is used for the first time for northeastern European Russia; the authors correlated this zonation with the scale of Ziegler and Sandberg (1990). Famennian deposits are subdivided using scale of Ziegler and Sandberg (1984) and miospore zonation. The age of local geological units (formations) is specified; the formations of different regions of northeastern European Russia are correlated to each other and to the regional subdivisions of EEP and Southern Urals. A total of 93 species of Ancyrodella, Mesotaxis, Palmatolepis, Polygnathus, and Zieglerina are described. Two new species Ctenopolygnathus parallelus sp. nov. and Polygnathus masonae sp. nov. are distinguished and five species are described in the open nomenclature. Special chapter is devoted to the phylomorphogenesis of Ancyrodella.  相似文献

A total of 127 species of stoneflies, dayflies, caddisflies, and chironomids were found in the lakes and small watercourses of the Northern and Pre-Polar Urals. The highest species diversity (78 species) and number were the characteristics of chironomids. Along with widely distributed species, Siberian and Arctic species were revealed in the fauna. The Arctic stonefly Capnia zaicevi Klap and 24 chironomid species were found for the first time on the territory of Komi Republic. Lists of registered insect species and data on their occurrence, abundance, and biomass are given.  相似文献

Noninvasive methods (interviews, feces collection, DNA analysis, and trail camera traps) allowed us to identify the most widespread mustelid species and assess the pattern of their distribution over the territory of the region. Two mustelid species—the American mink and common marten—are predominant in the Southern Urals. In summer and autumn, the American mink prefers brooks emptying into large rivers, whereas the common marten is more frequently met along banks of forest brooks and rivers with channel widths not exceeding 3 m. Whereas in usual conditions we observe spatial segregation between different mustelid species, extreme situations force mustelids to form multispecies communities on the banks of water bodies, where a mutual avoidance is reached by the temporal segregation strategy of circadian activity.  相似文献

Prior to the Holocene, the range of the saiga antelope (Saiga tatarica) spanned from France to the Northwest Territories of Canada. Although its distribution subsequently contracted to the steppes of Central Asia, historical records indicate that it remained extremely abundant until the end of the Soviet Union, after which its populations were reduced by over 95%. We have analysed the mitochondrial control region sequence variation of 27 ancient and 38 modern specimens, to assay how the species’ genetic diversity has changed since the Pleistocene. Phylogenetic analyses reveal the existence of two well‐supported, and clearly distinct, clades of saiga. The first, spanning a time range from >49 500 14C ybp to the present, comprises all the modern specimens and ancient samples from the Northern Urals, Middle Urals and Northeast Yakutia. The second clade is exclusive to the Northern Urals and includes samples dating from between 40 400 to 10 250 14C ybp. Current genetic diversity is much lower than that present during the Pleistocene, an observation that data modelling using serial coalescent indicates cannot be explained by genetic drift in a population of constant size. Approximate Bayesian Computation analyses show the observed data is more compatible with a drastic population size reduction (c. 66–77%) following either a demographic bottleneck in the course of the Holocene or late Pleistocene, or a geographic fragmentation (followed by local extinction of one subpopulation) at the Holocene/Pleistocene transition.  相似文献
