Natural resource management (NRM) is becoming increasingly important at all scales, local, regional, national and global, because of an increasing human population and increasing per capita use of resources and space. Conflicts are intensifying between different interest groups. Production and conservation aspects are particularly debated because conservation often conflicts with economic and social sustainability. There is public demand for objective decision based NRM but limitations are all pervasive due to the spatial and temporal complexity and interdisciplinary nature.This special issue explores the use of spatial data and models to overcome some limitations of NRM decision making. The papers in this issue show modern approaches of natural resources management with a particular focus on spatial data collection, analysis and the development of spatial indicators. This issue presents a balanced mix of review and research papers that give examples of how to find or improve the spatial information base for evidence-based decision making.This overview makes the argument that understanding complex spatial pattern and processes, and the development of spatial indicators, is an essential aspect of evidence-based NRM. If spatial and temporal patterns are complex, ecological evidence from field data or experiments may have limited value for NRM and observational study designs become more appropriate for understanding complex spatial pattern and processes. Data quality should be documented as a combination of accuracy and spatio-temporal representativeness in order to be useful in the NRM decision process. 相似文献

Abstract: N-Methyl-d -aspartate (NMDA) receptors regulating the release of [3H]noradrenaline ([3H]NA) and d -[3H]aspartate (d -[3H]Asp) were investigated in superfused slices of rat hippocampus in the presence and absence of nitrergic drugs to examine a possible role for nitric oxide (NO) in the release process. In Mg2+-free Krebs-Henseleit buffer, the NMDA-evoked release of [3H]NA and d -[3H]Asp was Ca2+ dependent and inhibited by the NMDA antagonist (±)-3-(2-carboxypiperazin-4-yl)propenyl-1-phosphonic acid. NMDA-stimulated release of [3H]NA was tetrodotoxin (TTX; 0.1–2 µM) sensitive, whereas that for d -[3H]Asp was TTX insensitive, indicating that the NMDA receptors involved are differentially localized; those for d -[3H]Asp appear to be presynaptic, whereas those for [3H]NA are extrasynaptic in location. l -Arginine (100 µM), the natural precursor of NO synthesis, enhanced NMDA-evoked release of [3H]NA (100%) and d -[3H]Asp (700%). Exogenous NO donors—sodium nitroprusside, 3-morpholinosyndnomine, and S-nitroso-N-acetylpenicillamine (all 100 µM)—stimulated the NMDA-evoked release. An exception was the inhibition by nitroprusside of NMDA-evoked release of [3H]NA, where the presence of antioxidants may influence channel activity. Inhibitors of NO synthase (NG-nitro-, NG-methyl-, and NG-amino-l -arginine, all 100 µM) attenuated (50–80%) the NMDA-stimulated release of [3H]NA and d -[3H]Asp, as did KN-62 (10 µM), a specific inhibitor of calmodulin kinase II. Our data support roles for the NO transducing system subsequent to the activation of NMDA release-regulating receptors as both an intraneuronal (presynaptically) and an extraneuronal messenger. 相似文献

Metathesis reaction between equimolar amount of [Et4N][GaCl4] and Na2edt in methanol resulted in the formation of the dichloro complex [Et4N][Ga(edt)Cl2] (1), whereas reaction of [Et4N][GaCl4] with two equivalents of Na2edt in methanol gave the complex [Et4N][Ga(edt)2] (2) which can act as a metalloligand. Treatment of 2 with M(PPh3)2NO3 in DMF/CH2Cl2 afforded the heterobimetallic complexes [Ga(edt)2M-(PPh3)2] (M = Cu 3, Ag 4) in moderate yields. The structures of 1-4 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Both [Ga(edt)Cl2]− and [Ga(edt)2]− anions have a distorted tetrahedral geometry. The former consists of one five-membered ring formed by chelating dithiolate and two terminal chloride atoms while the latter consists of two five-membered rings formed by two the chelating dithiolates. Complexes 3 and 4 consist of metalloligand [Ga(edt)2]− anion chelated to [M(PPh3)2]+via the sulfur atoms. Both tetrahedrally coordinated Ga and Cu(Ag) atoms are bridged by two sulfur atoms, forming a planar “GaS2M” (M = Cu, Ag) core. Thermogravimetry analysis revealed that heterobimetallic complexes 3 and 4 decomposed to give the corresponding ternary metal sulfide materials. 相似文献
