A seed response to cryopreservation has been studied in 11 endemic plant species from the Russian Far East to determine the possibility of their long-term storage. It has been shown that the cryogenic treatment does not kill seeds. The viability of 10 species did not decrease (or even increased) after their cryogenic storage. We have not revealed any deviations in the development of plants germinated from seeds stored at an extremely low temperature (−196°C). To monitor germination after long-term storage, procedures of seed germination under laboratory conditions have been developed. The results of this study contribute to the creation of low-temperature seed banks, able to conserve and restore a floral biological diversity.  相似文献

The systematic position of the little-deformed parasitic copepod family Nicothoidae to the much deformed family Choniostomatidae has been disputed for many years. The new genus Diexanthema gen. nov., based on Diexanthema desistoma sp. nov. and Diexanthema bathydiaita sp. nov. discovered on two deep-sea asellote isopod species, clearly links the family Nicothoidae (via male Diexanthema) to the family Choniostomatidae (via female Diexanthema). Based upon the extreme sexual dimorphism of this new genus, it is suggested that the family Nicothoidae be dissolved and its members placed within the family Choniostomatidae. It is concluded that the differences seen between these two parasitic groups is probably due more to host adaptations than reflecting any phylogenetic trend that is evolutionarily significant. It is felt that the deep-sea environment may serve as a refugium for archaic copepod forms which may possibly offer additional clues and insights into the phylogeny of the parasitic copepoda.
This investigation suggests that the life history and parasite/host relationships of Diexanthema desistoma are quite complicated and well geared to the life history of its isopod host, Chelator insignis.  相似文献

In the present study, a new species of a cavernicolous beetle is described from Serbia: Pholeuonopsis (Pholeuonopsis) zlatiborensis sp. n. (Leptodirini, Cholevinae, Leiodidae). All important taxonomic features have been thoroughly analyzed and illustrated. The new species probably belongs to an old phyletic lineage of mesogeid origin, like other known Pholeuonopsis species inhabiting cave and endogean habitats in the western part of the Balkan Peninsula. Therefore, the species is both relict and endemic inhabitant of cave habitats in Serbia.  相似文献

Two new species of the genus Ypsolopha Latreille, 1796 are described from Far East of Russia: Ypsolopha melanofuscella sp. n. and Ypsolopha straminella sp. n. Two new synomymies are proposed: Ypsolopha ulingensis Yang, 1977, a new junior synonym of Ypsolopha costibasella (Caradja, 1939); and Cerostoma falculella Erschoff, 1877, a new junior synonym of Ypsolopha asperella Linnaeus, 1761. The species Ypsolopha costibasella Caradja, 1939, Ypsolopha nigrofasciata Yang, 1977 and Ypsolopha nigrimaculata Byun et Park, 2001 are recorded from Far East of Russia for the first time. The male genitalia of Ypsolopha nigrofasciata are described and illustrated for the first time, diagnostic genital characters are given.  相似文献

A new draconematid nematode species of the genus Dinetia Decraemer and Gourbault, 1997 is described from the subtidal sediments and small logs from the eastern coast of South Korea. Dinetia orientalis n. sp. mainly differs from D. nycterobia Decraemer and Gourbault, 1997 by the following characters: large number of cephalic adhesion tubes (38-42 in male and 37-40 in female), number of posterior sublateral adhesion tubes (9-11 in male and 13-14 in female) and posterior subventral adhesion tubes (17-22 in male and 19-24 in female), the buccal cavity (narrow and armed with a dorsal and two weak ventrosublateral teeth), spicules (strongly arcuated and with a pair of strongly dilated gubernaculums around distal part of spicules), and higher "c" value (8.3-10.4 in male and 8.5-10.7 in female). This is the first report on free-living marine nematodes from South Korea, and the first record of the genus Dinetia in the Northwest Pacific.  相似文献

The cottid genus Radulinopsis Soldatov and Lindberg is recognized as a valid taxon including two species, R. derjavini Soldatov and Lindberg and R. taranetzi sp. nov., both distributed in shallow waters around Hokkaido, Japan, and the Russian Far East. Radulinopsis taranetzi differs from R. derjavini in having an almost naked body, teeth on the prevomer, and higher meristic counts. Radulinopsis derjugini Soldatov is synonymized with R. derjavini. A key to species of Radulinopsis and related genera is given. Based on a cladistic analysis of 18 morphological characters, Radulinopsis is the sister group of the Japanese genus Astrocottus, and the monophyletic eastern North Pacific group comprising Radulinus plus Asemichthys is the sister group of the western North Pacific group of Radulinopsis plus Astrocottus. Triglops, having a wide distribution throughout the North Pacific and North Atlantic, is putatively the sister group of a monophyletic group including these four genera. Bolin's genus Radulinus (including Radulinopsis as a subgenus) and Taranetz's subfamily Radulinae (including only Radulinus and Radulinopsis) are polyphyletic and therefore invalid. A new diatom (Bacillariophyceae) genus and two new species are described from the arid region of the North American southwest. The new genus, Playaensis, and new species, P. circumfimbria and P. furtiva, are distinguished by frustule morphology and autecology. Playaensis possesses unique, narrowly lunate longitudinal ribs bordering the raphe and spathulate spines, but their evolutionary relationship to known genera is unclear. In Payton Lake, New Mexico, P. circumfimbria and P. furtiva are rare in the diatom community, and their geographic and geological extent are not known, but they may be restricted to alkaline, slightly saline lakes of the region.  相似文献

A group of the species closely related to Chrysopilus subaquilus and distributed in the eastern regions of Russia is considered. Two new species are described. Ch. leleji is closely related to Ch. kurenzovi Kriv. et Sid. Its tergites II-V are blackish brown at their bases, not paler than the others; sternite VIII is broad and rectangular; tergite IX forms a distinct cone-shaped opening. Ch. paradoxus is similar to Ch. subaquilus Nag., but its clypeus is red, not brown. In addition, this species differs distinctly from all the known species of this genus in the presence of lateral tubercles on tergite IX. The main morphological characteristics of Ch. subaquilus Nag., Ch. lilianae Sob., and Ch. yezonis Nag. are analyzed.  相似文献

New earthworm samples from Cyprus are assessed and discussed. A re-evaluation of specimens previously relegated to the Southern Alpine species Perelia nematogena (Rosa, 1903), revealed two independent species: Perelia phoebea (Cognetti, 1913 Cognetti, L. (1913): Escursioni zoologiche del Dr. E. Festa nell’Isola di Rodi V. Oligocheti. Bollettino dei Musei di zoologia ed anatomia comparata della R. Università di Torino, 28, 16. [Google Scholar]) ,described originally from Rhodes Island, (Greece) and an undescribed species Perelia makrisi sp. n. The new species is similar also to the Levantine Pe. galileana Csuzdi &; Pavlí?ek, 2005 and corroborates the hypotheses that the autochthonous earthworm fauna of Cyprus is of Levantine origin.

A new genus and species of cyst nematode, Vittatidera zeaphila, is described from Tennessee. The new genus is superficially similar to Cactodera but is distinguished from other cyst-forming taxa in having a persistent lateral field in females and cysts, persistent vulval lips covering a circumfenestrate vulva, and subventral gland nuclei of the female contained in a separate small lobe. Infective juveniles (J2) are distinguished from all previously described Cactodera spp. by the short stylet in the second-stage juvenile (14-17 μm); J2 of Cactodera spp. have stylets at least 18 μm long. The new species also is unusual in that the females produce large egg masses. Known hosts are corn and goosegrass. DNA analysis suggests that Vittatidera forms a separate group apart from other cyst-forming genera within Heteroderinae.  相似文献
