The capabilities and limitations of the Becke-3-Lee-Yang-Parr (B3LYP) hybrid density functional are investigated as applied to studies of mixed-valent multinuclear oxomanganese complexes. Benchmark calculations involve the analysis of structural, electronic and magnetic properties of di-, tri- and tetra-nuclear Mn complexes, previously characterized both chemically and spectroscopically, including the di-mu-oxo bridged dimers [Mn(III)Mn(IV)(mu-O)(2)(H(2)O)(2)(terpy)(2)](3+) (terpy=2,2':6,2'-terpyridine) and [Mn(III)Mn(IV)(mu-O)(2)(phen)(4)](3+) (phen=1,10-phenanthroline), the Mn trimer [Mn(3)O(4)(bpy)(4)(H(2)O)(2)](4+) (bpy=2,2'-bipyridine), and the tetramer [Mn(4)O(4)L(6)](+) with L=Ph(2)PO(2)(-). Furthermore, the density functional theory (DFT) B3LYP level is applied to analyze the hydrated Mn(3)O(4)CaMn cluster completely ligated by water, OH(-), Cl(-), carboxylate and imidazole ligands, analogous to the '3+1 Mn tetramer' of the oxygen-evolving complex of photosystem II. It is found that DFT/B3LYP predicts structural and electronic properties of oxomanganese complexes in pre-selected spin-electronic states in very good agreement with X-ray and magnetic experimental data, even when applied in conjunction with rather modest basis sets. However, it is conjectured that the energetics of low-lying spin-states is beyond the capabilities of the DFT/B3LYP level, constituting a limitation to mechanistic studies of multinuclear oxomanganese complexes where until now the performance of DFT/B3LYP has raised little concern.  相似文献

We prepared platinum(IV) complexes containing dipeptide and diimine or diamine, the [PtCl(dipeptide-N,N,O)(diimine or diamine)]Cl complex, where -N,N,O means dipeptide coordinated as a tridentate chelate, dipeptide=glycylglycine (NH(2)CH(2)CON(-)CH(2)COO(-), digly, where two protons of dipeptide are detached when the dipeptide coordinates to metal ion as a tridentate chelate), glycyl-L-alanine (NH(2)CH(2)CON(-)CHCH(3)COO(-), gly-L-ala), L-alanylglycine (NH(2)CH CH(3)CON(-)CH(2)COO(-), L-alagly), or L-alanyl-L-alanine (NH(2)CHCH(3)CON(-)CHCH(3)COO(-), dil-ala), and diimine or diamine=bipyridine (bpy), ethylenediamine (en), N-methylethylenediamine (N-Me-en), or N,N'-dimethylethylenediamine (N,N'-diMe-en). In the complexes containing gly-L-ala or dil-ala, two separate peaks of the (195)Pt NMR spectra of the [PtCl(dipeptide-N,N,O)(diimine or diamine)]Cl complexes appeared in, but in the complexes containing digly or L-alagly, one peak which contained two overlapped signals appeared. One of the two complexes containing gly-L-ala and bpy, [PtCl(gly-L-ala-N,N,O)(bpy)]NO(3), crystallized and was analyzed. This complex has the monoclinic space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) with unit cell dimensions of a=9.7906(3)A, b=11.1847(2)A, c=16.6796(2)A, Z=4. The crystal data revealed that this [PtCl(gly-L-ala-N,N,O)(bpy)]NO(3) complex has the near- (Cl, CH(3)) configuration of two possible isomers. Based on elemental analysis, the other complex must have the near- (Cl, CH(3))-[PtCl(gly-L-ala-N,N,O)(bpy)]NO(3) configuration. The (195)Pt NMR chemical shifts of the near- (Cl, CH(3))-[PtCl(gly-L-ala-N,N,O)(bpy)]NO(3) complex and the far- (Cl, CH(3))-[PtCl(gly-L-ala-N,N,O)(bpy)]NO(3) complex are 0 ppm and -19 ppm, respectively (0 ppm for the Na(2)[PtCl(6)] signal). The additive property of the (195)Pt NMR chemical shift is discussed. The (195)Pt NMR chemical shifts of [PtCl(dipeptide-N,N,O)(bpy)]Cl appeared at a higher field when the H attached to the dipeptide carbon atom was replaced with a methyl group. On the other hand, the (195)Pt NMR chemicals shifts of [PtCl(dipeptide-N,N,O)(diamine)] appeared at a lower field when the H attached to the diamine nitrogen atom was replaced with a methyl group, in the order of [PtCl(digly-N,N,O)(en)]Cl, [PtCl(digly-N,N,O)(N-Me-en)]Cl, and [PtCl(digly-N,N,O)(N,N'-diMe-en)]Cl.  相似文献

New ligand acenaphthereno[1,2-b]-1,4,8,9-tetraazariphenylence (actatp) and its complexes [Ru(bpy)(2)(actatp)](ClO(4))(2).2H(2)O (1) (bpy=2,2'-bipyridine) and [Ru(phen)(2)(actatp)](ClO(4))(2).2H(2)O (2) (phen=1,10-phenanthroline) have been synthesized and characterized by UV-vis, 1H NMR, and mass spectra. The electrochemical behavior of the two complexes was studied by cyclic voltammetry. The interaction of the two complexes with calf thymus DNA has been investigated by spectrophotometric methods and viscosity measurements. The experimental results suggest that both complexes bind to DNA through an intercalative mode. The circular dichroism signals of the dialysates of the racemic complexes against calf thymus DNA are discussed. When irradiated at 302 nm, both complexes have also been found to promote the photocleavage of plasmid pBR 322 DNA.  相似文献

New chiral Ru(II) complexes delta and lambda-[Ru(bpy)(2)(pyip)](PF(6))(2) [(bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine; pyip = (2-(1-pyrenyl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-f] [1,10]phenanthroline] were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, (1)H NMR, ESI-MS, IR, and CD spectra. Their DNA-binding properties were studied by means of UV-vis, emission spectra, CD spectra and viscosity measurements. A subtle but detectable difference was observed in the interaction of both enantiomer with CT-DNA. Spectroscopy experiments indicated that each of these complexes could interact with the DNA. The DNA-binding of the Delta-enantiomer was stronger than that of Lambda-enantiomer. DNA-viscosity experiments provided evidence that both Delta- and Lambda-[Ru(bpy)(2)(pyip)](PF(6))(2) bound to DNA by intercalation. At the same time, the DNA-photocleavage properties of the complexes were investigated too. Under irradiation with UV light, Ru(II) complexes showed different efficiency of cleaving DNA.  相似文献

Isocyanato and isothiocyanatopolypyridineruthenium complexes, [Ru(NCX)Y(bpy)(py)2]n+ (bpy=2,2′-bipyridine, PY=pyridine; X=O, Y=NO2 for n=0, and Y=py for n=1; X=S, Y=NO2 for n=0, Y=NO for n=2, and Y=py for n=1), were synthesized by the reaction of polypyridineruthenium complexes with potassium cyanate or sodium thiocyanate salt. Isocyanatoruthenium(II) complexes, [Ru(NCO)(NO2)(bpy)(py)2] and [Ru(NCO)(bpy)(py)3]+, react under acidic conditions to form the corresponding ammineruthenium complexes, [Ru(NO)(NH3)(bpy)(py)2]3+. The molecular structures of [Ru(NCO)(bpy)(py)3]ClO4, [Ru(NCS)(NO)(bpy)(py)2](PF6)2 and [Ru(NO)(NH3)(bpy)(py)2](PF6)3 were determined by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

This article reports vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectroscopic studies in acetonitrile on the chiral Rh(2)(O-Phe-Cbz)(1)(OAc)(3) and Rh(2)(O-Phe-Ac)(1)(OAc)(3) complexes (abbreviated Rh(2)Z(1) and Rh(2)Ac(1) , respectively; Phe, L-phenylalanine; Cbz, benzyloxycarbonyl; Ac, acetyl) supported by theoretical calculations. The ECD spectra of the complexes depend on temperature that indicates the conformational mobility of the chiral ligands. Calculations of the VCD spectra were performed at ab initio (DFT) level of theory using Gaussian 03 [B3LYP functional combined with the LANL2DZ basis set for the dirhodium core and the 6-31G(d) basis set for other atoms]. The population-weighted sums of the computed VCD spectra of the conformers are in excellent agreement with the experimental VCD spectra. The combination of the VCD and ECD spectroscopic methods led us to the structural characterization of the complexes.  相似文献

In this short communication we describe the synthesis and the optical and magnetic properties of optically active three dimensional (3D) bimetallic [Cr-Mn] networks [[Delta Cr(III) Delta Mn(II)(ox)(3)][Delta Ru(II)(bpy)(3)]ClO(4)](n)1 - Delta, [[Lambda Cr(III)Lambda Mn(II)(ox)(3)][Lambda Ru(II) (bpy)(3)]ClO(4)](n) 1 - Lambda and [[Delta Cr(III)Delta Mn(II)(ox)(3)][Delta Ru(II)(bpy)(2)p p y]](n) 2 - Delta,[[Lambda Cr(III)Lambda Mn(II)(ox)(3)][Lambda Ru(II)(bpy)(2)ppy]](n) 2 - Lambda (ox = oxalate, bpy = bipyridine, ppy = phenyl-pyridine).  相似文献

The characterization of a polyclonal antibody produced via immunization with an [Os(bpy)(2)dcbpy] hapten is described. Bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine and dcbpy is 2,2'-bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid. The cross-reactivity of the antibody for the Ru(II) analogue of the hapten was also investigated. Large increases in the emission and luminescent lifetime of a series of Os and Ru complexes were observed on binding of the antibody. Association equilibrium constants were derived from luminescence titration data and were found to be 5.6 x 10(8) and 5.0 x 10(8)M(-1) for [Os(bpy)(2)dcbpy] and [Ru(bpy)(2)dcbpy], respectively. Spectroscopic changes were likely due to the exclusion of H(2)O from the complex/antibody binding cleft and blocking of vibrational relaxation pathways of the Os/Ru excited state. D(2)O/H(2)O experiments confirmed that the antibody protected approx. 82% of [Os(bpy)(2)dcbpy] and 80% of [Ru(bpy)(2)dcbpy] from excited state deactivation by the aqueous solvent.  相似文献

Adsorption of [(OH(2))(terpy)Mn(mu-O)(2)Mn(terpy)(OH(2))](3+) (terpy=2,2':6',2"-terpyridine) (1) onto montmorillonite K10 (MK10) yielded catalytic dioxygen (O(2)) evolution from water using a Ce(IV) oxidant. The Mn K-edge X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) of the 1/MK10 hybrid suggested that the oxidation state of the di-mu-oxo Mn(2) core could be Mn(III)-Mn(IV). However the pre-edge peak in the XANES spectrum of 1 adsorbed on MK10 is different from the neat 1 powder. The kinetic analysis of O(2) evolution showed that the catalysis requires cooperation of two equivalents of 1 adsorbed on MK10. The reaction of the [(bpy)(2)Mn(mu-O)(2)Mn(bpy)(2)](3+) (bpy=2,2'-bipyridine) (2)/MK10 hybrid with a Ce(IV) oxidant evolved O(2). However, the turnover number value was less than unity for 2/MK10, showing that 2 adsorbed on MK10 does not work as a catalyst. The terminal water ligands could be an important for the catalysis by adsorbed 1. The mechanism of O(2) production by photosynthetic oxygen evolving complex is discussed based on catalytic O(2) evolution by 1 adsorbed on MK10.  相似文献

Two new ruthenium(II) complexes of [Ru(bpy)(pp[2,3]p)2](ClO4)2 and [Ru(phen)(pp[2,3]p)2](ClO4)(2) (bpy=2,2'-bipyridine, phen=1,10-phenanthroline, pp[2,3]p=pyrido[2',3':5,6]pyrazino[2,3-f][1,10]phenanthroline) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and 1H NMR spectra. The calf thymus DNA-binding properties of the two complexes were investigated by UV-visible and emission spectroscopy, competitive binding experiments with ethidium bromide and viscosity measurements. The results indicate that the two complexes intercalate between the base pairs of the DNA tightly with intrinsic DNA-binding constants of 3.08 x 10(6) and 6.53 x 10(6) M(-1) in buffered 50 mM NaCl, respectively, which are much larger than 6.9 x 10(5) M(-1) for [Ru(bpy)2(pp[2,3]p)](ClO4)2 containing two ancillary ligands of bpy.  相似文献

Four novel aqua-bridged dinuclear complexes with a formula M2(mu-H2O)(mu-OAc)2(Im)4(OAc)2(Im)4(OAc)2 (where Im=imidazole, M=Mg2+ 1, Mn2+ 2, Ni2+ 3 and Co2+ 4) have been synthesized and characterized. Complexes 1, 2 and 3 have been characterized by X-ray crystallography. Two M2+ ions are bridged by an aqua molecule and two carboxylate anion with M...M=3.635-3.777 A, M-OH(2)=2.109-2.246 A and M-OH(2)-M=114.4-119.0 degrees, respectively. Each complex is further stabilized by two intramolecular hydrogen bonds between the hydrogens of the bridging aqua and the oxygens of the terminal monodentate acetates with a distance of O...O=2.6 A. The terminal monodentate acetates display "reversed" C-O distances, namely the C-O(free) distances are actually longer than the C-O(coordinating) distances. This abnormal geometry of a monodentate carboxylate would be caused by the strong "pulling effect" on the terminal carboxylates by intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds. The O-H stretching vibration of the bridging water was identified at ca. 2328 cm(-1) in IR spectra based on the deuterium isotope shift. The solid state 13C and 15N NMR spectra of 1 displayed two sets of peaks for acetate and Im ligands, respectively, consistent with the presence of two types of coordination modes of acetate and the two symmetrically non-equivalent Im as revealed by X-ray structure. 15N chemical shift of NH in Im ligands underwent about 6 ppm downfield shift due to its involvement in an intermolecular hydrogen bond.  相似文献

Two new diMn(III) complexes [Mn(2)(III)L(1)(mu-AcO)(mu-MeO)(methanol)(2)]Br (1) and [Mn(2)(III)L(2)(mu-AcO)(mu-MeO)(methanol)(ClO(4))] (2) (L(1)H(3)=1,5-bis(2-hydroxybenzophenylideneamino)pentan-3-ol; L(2)H(3)=1,5-bis(2-hydroxynaphtylideneamino)pentan-3-ol) were synthesized and structurally characterized. Structural studies evidence that these complexes have a bis(mu-alkoxo)(mu-carboxylato) triply bridged diMn(III) core in the solid state and in solution, with two substitution-labile sites--one on each Mn ion--in cis-position. The two complexes show catalytic activity toward disproportionation of H(2)O(2), with saturation kinetics on [H(2)O(2)], in methanol and dimethyl formamide at 25 degrees C. Spectroscopic monitoring of the H(2)O(2) disproportionation reaction suggests that (i) complexes 1 and 2 dismutate H(2)O(2) by a mechanism involving redox cycling between Mn(2)(III) and Mn(2)(IV), (ii) the complexes retain the dinuclearity during catalysis, (iii) the active form of the catalyst contains bound acetate, and (iv) protons favors the formation of inactive Mn(II) species. Comparison to other dimanganese complexes of the same family shows that the rate of catalase reaction is not critically dependent on the redox potential of the catalyst, that substitution of phenolate by naphtolate in the Schiff base ligand favors formation of the catalyst-substrate adduct, and that, in the non-protic solvent, the bulkier substituent at the imine proton position hampers the binding to the substrate.  相似文献

In this study we present the infrared spectroscopic characterization of the bound ubiquinone in cytochrome bo(3) from Escherichia coli. Electrochemically induced Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) difference spectra of DeltaUbiA (an oxidase devoid of bound ubiquinone) and DeltaUbiA reconstituted with ubiquinone 2 and with isotopically labeled ubiquinone 2, where (13)C was introduced either at the 1- or at the 4-position of the ring (C=O groups), have been obtained. The vibrational modes of the quinone bound to the discussed high-affinity binding site (Q(H)) are compared to those from the synthetic quinones in solution, leading to the assignment of the C=O modes to a split signal at 1658/1668 cm(-)(1), with both carbonyls similarly contributing. The FTIR spectra of DeltaUbiA reconstituted with the labeled quinones indicate an essentially symmetrical and weak hydrogen bonding of the two C=O groups from the neutral quinone with the protein and distinct conformations of the 2- and 3-methoxy groups. Perturbations of the vibrational modes of the 5-methyl side groups are discussed for a signal at 1452 cm(-)(1). Only negligible shifts of the aromatic ring modes can be reported for the reduced and the protonated form of the quinone. Alterations of the protein upon quinone binding are reflected in the electrochemically induced FTIR difference spectra. In particular, difference signals at 1640-1633 cm(-)(1) and 1700-1670 cm(-)(1) indicate variations of beta-sheet secondary structure elements and loops, bands at 1706 and 1678 cm(-)(1) are tentatively attributed to individual amino acids, and a difference signal a 1540 cm(-)(1) is discussed to reflect an influence on C=C modes of the porphyrin ring or on deprotonated propionate groups of the hemes. Further tentative assignments are presented and discussed. The (13)C labeling experiments allow the assignment of the vibrational modes of a bound ubiquinone 8 in the electrochemically induced FTIR difference spectra of wild-type bo(3).  相似文献

In this study, two isomeric ruthenium(II) complexes [Ru(bpy)(2)(p-mopip)](2+) (1) and [Ru(bpy)(2)(o-mopip)](2+) (2) (bpy = 2, 2-bipyridine; L: p-mopip = 2-(4-methoxylphenyl) imidazo [4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline, o-mopip = 2-(2-methoxylphenyl) imidazo[4,5-f][1,10] phenan-throline) contained -OCH(3) at different positions on the phenyl ring and their enantiomers Λ-1, -2 and Δ-1, -2 displayed different properties. The cell viability of these ruthenium(II) complexes was evaluated by MTT, and complex Λ-1 has shown significant higher anticancer potency than Δ-1 against all the cell lines screened. Fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometric analyses demonstrated that complex Λ-1 was able to induce apoptosis. The interactions of complexes Λ-1, 1, and Δ-1 with bovine serum albumin (BSA) were investigated by fluorescence and circular dichroism (CD) measurements. The fluorescence quenching mechanism of BSA by complexes Λ-1, 1, and Δ-1 was determined to be a static process, and the apparent binding constant K(a) values is as follows: Λ-1 >1 > Δ-1. The number of binding sites n for all these complexes was 1. The result of CD showed that the secondary structure of BSA molecules was changed in the presence of the ruthenium(II) complex.  相似文献

Reaction of Mn(II) with phenoxyalkanoic acids and di-2-pyridyl ketone oxime (Hpko) leads to neutral tetranuclear complexes of the general formula Mn(4)(O)(pko)(4)(phenoxyalkanoato)(4) (phenoxyalkanoic acids: H-mcpa=2-methyl-4-chloro-phenoxy-acetic acid, H-2,4,5-T=2,4,5-trichloro-phenoxy-acetic acid or H3,4-D=3,4-dichloro-phenoxy-acetic acid). The compounds were synthesized by adding di-2-pyridyl ketone oxime to MnCl(2) in the presence of the sodium salts of the alkanoic acids in methanol. The crystal structure of Mn(4)(II/II/II/IV)(O)(pko)(4)(2,4,5-T)(4).2.5CH(3)OH.0.25H(2)O 1 shows that the complex consists of a [Mn(4)(mu(4)-O)](8+) core with a Mn(IV) and 3 Mn(II) ions in octahedral environment and a mu(4)-O atom bridging the four manganese ions. Spectroscopic studies of the interaction of these tetranuclear clusters with DNA showed that these compounds bind to dsDNA. The binding strength of the Mn(4)(II/II/II/IV)(O)(pko)(4)(2,4,5-T)(4) complex for calf thymus DNA is equal to 1.1x10(4)M(-1). Among the deoxyribonucleotides they bind preferentially to deoxyguanylic acid (dGMP). Competitive studies with ethidium bromide (EthBr) showed that the Mn(4)(II/II/II/IV)(O)(pko)(4)(2,4,5-T)(4) complex exhibited the ability to displace the DNA-bound EthBr indicating that the complex binds to DNA via intercalation in strong competition with EthBr for the intercalative binding site. Additionally, DNA electrophoretic mobility experiments showed that all three complexes, at low cluster concentration, are obviously capable of binding to pDNA causing its cleavage (relaxation) at physiological pH and temperature. At higher cluster concentration, catenated dimer forms of pDNA was formed.  相似文献

Reactions of the structural model hydrolases [M2(OAc)4(H2O)(Im)4]; M=Mn (E); M=Co (D); M=Ni (B) and [M2(OPiv)4(H2O)(tmen)2]; M=Mn (E″); M=Co (D″); M=Ni (B″) with a number of hydroxamic acids, RHA (aceto- (R=CH3), benzo- (R = C6H5) and N-phenylacetohydroxamic acid (NPhAHA)) gave a series of hydroxamate dibridged complexes [M2(OAc)(RA)2(Im)4][OTf] and [M2(OPiv)(RA)2(tmen)2][OTf]; M=Co, Ni, in which the bridging hydroxamates exhibit a novel bonding mode in which the deprotonated hydroxamate hydroxyl bridges the two metal centres only. The formation of this type of structure by NPhAHA is the first example involving a secondary hydroxamic acid. These complexes are good structural models of the acetohydroxamate-inhibited C319A variant of Klebsiella aerogenes urease (KAU) and their structures are close to those previously reported for complexes containing tmen capping ligands. Reaction with glutarodihydroxamic acid leads to hydroxylamine elimination and formation of a dimer containing deprotonated N-hydroxyglutarimide as bridging ligand but in this case the structure contains pentacoordinated Co(II) and only one bridging acetate in contrast to the tmen-based series where the analogous complex contains hexacoordinated Co(II) and two bridging acetates. Reaction of [Mn2(OAc)2(μ-OAc)2(μ-H2O)(tmen)2] with acetohydroxamic acid (AHA) gave the first structurally characterized manganese hydroxamate, [Mn2(OAc)3(AA)(tmen)2] with the same bridging/chelating mode of hydroxamate bonding as in the analogous cobalt and nickel complexes, although only one bridging hydroxamate occurs in the manganese complex in contrast to the two bridging hydroxamates in the cobalt and nickel complexes. The isolation of the dimanganese hydroxamate bridged complex suggests that hydroxamic acids may also inhibit the dimanganese based metallohydrolase, arginase.  相似文献

Complexes of Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Pt(II) with 3- and 5-substituted salicylaldehyde 2-pyridinylhydrazones (XSPH, X = H, 3-NO2, 3-CH3O, 5-Br, 5-Cl, 5-CH3, or 5-NO2) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, conductance measurements, magnetic moments (300-78 K), and spectral studies. On the basis of these studies a monomeric, high-spin, distorted octahedral structure for Mn(XSPH)2 and Fe(XSPH)2, a dimeric, high-spin, five-coordinate structure for Co(XSBH)Cl, a dimeric, low-spin, five-coordinate structure for Ni(XSPH)Cl and Zn(XSPH)(OAc), and a square-planar structure for M(XSPH)Cl.H2O (M = Cu(II) or Pt(II] complexes are suggested. The polycrystalline ESR spectra of Cu(II) complexes are isotropic and suggest dx2-y2 ground state in square-planar stereochemistry. M?ssbauer spectral results indicate distorted octahedral structure for iron(II) complexes. All the metal(II) complexes have been screened for their antitumor activity against P388 lymphocytic leukemia test system in mice and have been found to possess no significant activity at the dosages used.  相似文献

The vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) and infrared absorption (IR) spectra of the mismatched octamer oligonucleotides d(CGTGCGCG)(2) (CGT) and d(CGCGTGCG)(2) (CGC) and their complexes with the antitumor drug daunomycin were measured in D(2)O, interpreted, and compared to the octamer d(CGCGCGCG)(2) (CG). The IR spectra of the mismatched octamers in the carbonyl-stretching region are similar to those of the parent CG, whereas the VCD spectra differ in several respects between each other. The main VCD feature due to carbonyl stretching is informative for the mismatches and CG. Vibrational modes in the sugar-phosphate region remain essentially unchanged especially for PO(2) (-) symmetric stretching. Differences between the free and complexed mismatch octamers occurred mainly in the carbonyl-stretching region (1,700-1,600 cm(-1)). The absorption intensity of the C==O peak of G is more prominent for CGC than CGT and resembles CG in this respect. The detailed composition of this doublet is clearly visible, indicating the geometric rearrangement of the base pairs in the presence of the mismatch and upon forming the daunomycin complex.  相似文献

The interaction between glucose oxidase (GOx) and a typical metal complex, which is chemically stable in both oxidized and reduced forms, has been investigated by a voltammetric method. The evaluation of an electron-transfer mediator useful for glucose oxidation is discussed from thermodynamic and kinetic points of view, i.e. the redox potentials of various metal complexes and the second-order rate constants for the electron transfer between GOx in reduced form and the metal complexes in oxidized form. No mediation of glucose oxidation by [Co(bpy)(3)](2+) (bpy=2,2'-bipyridine) or [Cu(bpy)(2)](2+) occurred, in spite of their appropriate redox potentials. This was attributed mainly to the lower electron-self-exchange rates of the mediator and the reaction with GOx. All three types of osmium(II) complexes, [Os(PP) (n)](2+) ( n=2 or 3; PP=polypyridine), [OsL(2)(PP)(2)](2+) (L=imidazole and its derivatives), and [OsClL(bpy)(2)](+), acted as excellent electron-transfer mediators for the glucose oxidation. Mixed ligand complexes, [OsL(2)(PP)(2)](2+) and [OsClL(bpy)(2)](+), have been concluded to be more efficient electron-transfer mediators. The electron-transfer rates between the mediator and GOx have been found to be accelerated by intermolecular electrostatic interactions or hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

Complexes of the type [M(pabh)(H2O)Cl], [M(pcbh)(H2O)Cl] and [M(Hpabh)(H2O)2 (SO4)] where, M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II); Hpabh = p-amino acetophenone benzoyl hydrazone and Hpcbh = p-chloro acetophenone benzoyl hydrazone have been synthesized and characterized with the help of elemental analyses, electrical conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, electronic, ESR and IR spectra, thermal (TGA & DTA) and X-ray diffraction studies. Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) chloride complexes are square planar, whereas their sulfate complexes have spin-free octahedral geometry. ESR spectra of Cu(II) complexes with Hpabh are axial and suggest d(x(2)-y(2) as the ground state. The ligand is bidentate bonding through > C = N--and deprotonated enolate group in all the chloro complexes, whereas, >C = N and >C = O groups in all the sulfato complexes. Thermal studies (TGA & DTA) on [Cu(Hpabh)(H2O)2(SO4)] indicate a multistep decomposition pattern, which are both exothermic and endothermic in nature. X-ray powder diffraction parameters for [Co(pabh)(H2O)Cl] and [Ni(Hpabh)(H2O)2(SO4)] correspond to tetragonal and orthorhombic crystal lattices, respectively. The ligands as well as their complexes show a significant antifungal and antibacterial activity. The metal complexes are more active than the ligand.  相似文献
