Stalk lodging in maize causes annual yield losses between 5 and 20% worldwide. Many studies have indicated that maize stalk strength significantly negatively correlates with lodging observed in the field. Rind penetrometer resistance (RPR) measurements can be used to effectively evaluate maize stalk strength, but little is known about the genetic basis of this parameter. The objective of this study was to explore a genetic model and detect quantitative trait loci (QTL) of RPR and determine relationships between RPR and other stalk traits, especially cell wall chemical components. RPR is quantitative trait in nature, and both additive and non-additive effects may be important to consider for the improvement of RPR. Nine additive-effect QTLs covering nine chromosomes, except chromosome 5, and one pair of epistatic QTLs were detected for RPR. CeSA11 involved in cellulose synthesis and colorless2 involved in lignin synthesis were identified as possible candidate genes for RPR. Internode diameter (InD), fresh weight of internode (FreW), dry weight of internode (DryW), fresh weight and dry weight as well as cell wall components per unit volume significantly positively correlated with RPR. The internode water content (InW) significantly negatively correlated with RPR. Notably, these traits significantly correlated with RPR, and the QTLs of these traits co-localized with those of RPR. The corresponding results obtained from correlation analysis and QTL mapping suggested the presence of pleitropism or linkage between genes and indicated that these different approaches may be used for cross authentication of relationships between different traits.  相似文献

In this study, one rice population of recombinant inbred lines (RILs) was used to determine the genetic characteristics of seed reserve utilization during the early (day 6), middle (day 10) and late (day 14) germination stages. The seedling dry weight (SDW) and weight of the mobilized seed reserve (WMSR) were increased, while the seed reserve utilization efficiency (SRUE) decreased, during the process of seed germination. The SDW and WMSR were affected by the seed weight, while the SRUE was not affected by the seed weight. A total of twenty unconditional and twenty-one conditional additive QTLs and eight epistatic QTLs were identified at three germination stages, and the more QTLs were expressed at the late germination stage. Among them, twelve additive and three epistatic QTLs for SDW, eight additive and three epistatic QTLs for WMSR and thirteen additive and two epistatic QTLs for SRUE were identified, respectively. The phenotypic variation explained by each additive QTL, epistatic QTL and QTL × development interaction ranged from 6.10 to 23.91%, 1.79 to 6.88% and 0.22 to 2.86%, respectively. Two major additive QTLs qWMSR7.1 and qSRUE4.3 were identified, and each QTL could explain more than 20% of the total phenotypic variance. By comparing the chromosomal positions of these additive QTLs with those previously identified, eleven QTLs might represent novel genes. The best four cross combinations of each trait for the development of RIL populations were selected. The selected RILs and the identified QTLs might be applicable to improve rice seed reserve utilization by the marker-assisted selection approach.  相似文献

Maize (Zea mays L.) stalk lodging is breakage of the stalk at or below the ear, which may result in loss of the ear at harvest. Stalk lodging is often intensified by the stalk tunneling action of the second-generation of the European corn borer (2-ECB) [Ostrinia nubilalis (Hübner)]. Rind penetrometer resistance (RPR) has been used to measure stalk strength and improve stalk lodging resistance, and quantitative trait loci (QTL) have been identified for both RPR and 2-ECB damage. Phenotypic recurrent selection (PS) increases the frequency of favorable alleles over cycles of selection. Several studies have indicated that marker-assisted selection (MAS) is also a potentially valuable selection tool. The objective of this study was to compare the efficiency of PS versus MAS for RPR and 2-ECB. Marker-assisted selection for high and low RPR was effective in the three populations studied. Phenotypic selection for both high and low RPR was more effective than MAS in two of the populations. However, in a third population, MAS for high RPR using QTL effects from the same population was more effective than PS, and using QTL effects from a separate population was just as effective as PS. Marker-assisted selection for resistance and susceptibility to 2-ECB using QTL effects from the same population was effective in increasing susceptibility, but not in increasing resistance. Marker-assisted selection using QTL effects from a separate population was effective in both directions of selection. Thus, MAS was effective in selecting for both resistance and susceptibility to 2-ECB. These results demonstrated that MAS can be an effective selection tool for both RPR and 2-ECB resistance. These results also validate the locations and effects of QTL for RPR and 2-ECB resistance identified in earlier studies.Communicated by D. Hoisington  相似文献

Capsaicinoids are unique compounds produced only in peppers (Capsicum spp.). Several studies using classical quantitative trait loci (QTLs) mapping and genomewide association studies (GWAS) have identified QTLs controlling capsaicinoid content in peppers; however, neither the QTLs common to each population nor the candidate genes underlying them have been identified due to the limitations of each approach used. Here, we performed QTL mapping and GWAS for capsaicinoid content in peppers using two recombinant inbred line (RIL) populations and one GWAS population. Whole‐genome resequencing and genotyping by sequencing (GBS) were used to construct high‐density single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) maps. Five QTL regions on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 10 were commonly identified in both RIL populations over multiple locations and years. Furthermore, a total of 109 610 SNPs derived from two GBS libraries were used to analyse the GWAS population consisting of 208 C. annuum‐clade accessions. A total of 69 QTL regions were identified from the GWAS, 10 of which were co‐located with the QTLs identified from the two biparental populations. Within these regions, we were able to identify five candidate genes known to be involved in capsaicinoid biosynthesis. Our results demonstrate that QTL mapping and GBS‐GWAS represent a powerful combined approach for the identification of loci controlling complex traits.  相似文献

The Genetic Architecture of Maize Stalk Strength   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Stalk strength is an important trait in maize (Zea mays L.). Strong stalks reduce lodging and maximize harvestable yield. Studies show rind penetrometer resistance (RPR), or the force required to pierce a stalk rind with a spike, is a valid approximation of strength. We measured RPR across 4,692 recombinant inbreds (RILs) comprising the maize nested association mapping (NAM) panel derived from crosses of diverse inbreds to the inbred, B73. An intermated B73×Mo17 family (IBM) of 196 RILs and a panel of 2,453 diverse inbreds from the North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station (NCRPIS) were also evaluated. We measured RPR in three environments. Family-nested QTL were identified by joint-linkage mapping in the NAM panel. We also performed a genome-wide association study (GWAS) and genomic best linear unbiased prediction (GBLUP) in each panel. Broad sense heritability computed on a line means basis was low for RPR. Only 8 of 26 families had a heritability above 0.20. The NCRPIS diversity panel had a heritability of 0.54. Across NAM and IBM families, 18 family-nested QTL and 141 significant GWAS associations were identified for RPR. Numerous weak associations were also found in the NCRPIS diversity panel. However, few were linked to loci involved in phenylpropanoid and cellulose synthesis or vegetative phase transition. Using an identity-by-state (IBS) relationship matrix estimated from 1.6 million single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and RPR measures from 20% of the NAM panel, genomic prediction by GBLUP explained 64±2% of variation in the remaining RILs. In the NCRPIS diversity panel, an IBS matrix estimated from 681,257 SNPs and RPR measures from 20% of the panel explained 33±3% of variation in the remaining inbreds. These results indicate the high genetic complexity of stalk strength and the potential for genomic prediction to hasten its improvement.  相似文献

Adaptation to the environment and reproduction are dependent on the date of flowering in the season. The objectives of this paper were to evaluate the effect of photoperiod on flowering date of the model species for legume crops, Medicago truncatula and to describe genetic architecture of this trait in multiple mapping populations. The effect of photoperiod (12 and 18 h) was analysed on eight lines. Quantitative variation in three recombinant inbred lines (RILs) populations involving four parental lines was evaluated, and QTL detection was carried out. Flowering occurred earlier in long than in short photoperiods. Modelling the rate of progression to flowering with temperature and photoperiod gave high R(2), with line-specific parameters that indicated differential responses of the lines to both photoperiod and temperature. QTL detection showed a QTL on chromosome 7 that was common to all populations and seasons. Taking advantage of the multiple mapping populations, it was condensed into a single QTL with a support interval of only 0.9 cM. In a bioanalysis, six candidate genes were identified in this interval. This design also indicated other genomic regions that were involved in flowering date variation more specifically in one population or one season. The analysis on three different mapping populations detected more QTLs than on a single population, revealed more alleles and gave a more precise position of the QTLs that were common to several populations and/or seasons. Identification of candidate genes was a result of integration of QTL analysis and genomics in M. truncatula.  相似文献

In this study, a rice population of recombinant inbred lines (RILs) was used to determine the genetic characteristics of seed dormancy (SD) at 4 (early), 5 (middle) and 6 (late) weeks after heading stages. Dynamic analysis showed that the indica IR28 variety tended to have deeper dormancy than the japonica Daguandao at the middle and late development stages. The level of SD decreased with the process of seed development. The significant interaction between heading date (HD) and SD occurred only in those seeds collected at the early development stage. A total of nine additive quantitative trait loci (QTLs) and eight epistatic QTLs for SD were identified at three seed development stages. Of them, one additive and four epistatic QTLs were identified for the early stage, six additive and one epistatic QTL for the middle stage and two additive and three epistatic QTLs for the late stage. The phenotypic variation explained by each additive and epistatic QTL ranged from 5.8 to 30.6 % and from 3.8 to 13.1 %, respectively. Compared with the additive QTLs, epistatic interactions were much more important for SD at the early and late development stages. Two major additive QTLs, qSD3.1 and qSD4.1, were identified; each QTL could explain more than 20 % of the total phenotypic variance and each dormancy-enhancing allele could decrease the germination percentage by about 10 %. By comparing the chromosomal positions of these additive QTLs with those previously identified, five additive QTLs, qSD1.2, qSD2.1, qSD3.2, qSD4.1 and qSD9.1, might represent novel genes. One QTL identified here, qHD1, and nine QTLs identified in previous studies for HD were co-located with our QTLs for SD, which indicated that the significant correlation between SD and HD might be due to the linkage of QTLs for SD and HD. Four RILs with deep dormancy at development stages but non-dormancy after post-ripening under different germination conditions were selected. Using the selected RILs, three cross combinations of SD for the development of RIL populations were predicted. The selected RILs and the identified QTLs might be applicable for the improvement of pre-harvest sprouting tolerance by marker-assisted selection in rice.  相似文献

Seed vigor is an important characteristic of seed quality. In this study, one rice population of recombinant inbred lines (RILs) was used to determine the genetic characteristics of seed vigor, including the germination potential, germination rate, germination index and time for 50% of germination, at 4 (early), 5 (middle) and 6 weeks (late) after heading in two years. A total of 24 additive and 9 epistatic quantitative trait loci (QTL) for seed vigor were identified using QTL Cartographer and QTLNetwork program respectively in 2012; while 32 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers associated with seed vigor were detected using bulked segregant analysis (BSA) in 2013. The additive, epistatic and QTL × development interaction effects regulated the dry maturity developmental process to improve seed vigor in rice. The phenotypic variation explained by each additive, epistatic QTL and QTL × development interaction ranged from 5.86 to 40.67%, 4.64 to 11.28% and 0.01 to 1.17%, respectively. The QTLs were rarely co-localized among the different maturity stages; more QTLs were expressed at the early maturity stage followed by the late and middle stages. Twenty additive QTLs were stably expressed in two years which might play important roles in establishment of seed vigor in different environments. By comparing chromosomal positions of these stably expressed additive QTLs with those previously identified, the regions of QTL for seed vigor are likely to coincide with QTL for grain size, low temperature germinability and seed dormancy; while 5 additive QTL might represent novel genes. Using four selected RILs, three cross combinations of seed vigor for the development of RIL populations were predicted; 19 elite alleles could be pyramided by each combination.  相似文献

Groundnut bruchid (Caryedon serratus Olivier) is a major storage insect pest that significantly lowers the quality and market acceptance of the produce. Screening for resistance against groundnut bruchid in field conditions is difficult due to the variation in environmental factors and possible occurrence of biotypes. Hence, identification of tightly linked markers or quantitative trait loci (QTLs) is needed for selection and pyramiding of resistance genes for durable resistance. A population of recombinant inbred lines derived from a cross between VG 9514 (resistant) and TAG 24 (susceptible) was screened for five component traits of bruchid resistance in 2 years. The same population was genotyped with 221 polymorphic marker loci. A genetic linkage map covering 1,796.7 cM map distance was constructed with 190 marker loci in cultivated groundnut. QTL analysis detected thirteen main QTLs for four components of bruchid resistance in nine linkage groups and 31 epistatic QTLs for total developmental period (TDP). Screening in 2 years for bruchid resistance identified two common main QTLs. The common QTL for TDP, qTDP-b08, explained 57–82 % of phenotypic variation, while the other common QTL for adult emergence, qAE2010/11-a02, explained 13–21 % of phenotypic variation. Additionally, three QTLs for TDP, adult emergence and number of holes and one QTL for pod weight loss were identified which explained 14–39 % of phenotypic variation. This is the first report on identification of multiple main and epistatic loci for bruchid resistance in groundnut.  相似文献

Leaf veins provide the mechanical support and are responsible for the transport of nutrients and water to the plant. High vein density is a prerequisite for plants to have C4 photosynthesis. We investigated the genetic variation and genetic architecture of leaf venation traits within the species Arabidopsis thaliana using natural variation. Leaf venation traits, including leaf vein density (LVD) were analysed in 66 worldwide accessions and 399 lines of the multi‐parent advanced generation intercross population. It was shown that there is no correlation between LVD and photosynthesis parameters within A. thaliana. Association mapping was performed for LVD and identified 16 and 17 putative quantitative trait loci (QTLs) in the multi‐parent advanced generation intercross and worldwide sets, respectively. There was no overlap between the identified QTLs suggesting that many genes can affect the traits. In addition, linkage mapping was performed using two biparental recombinant inbred line populations. Combining linkage and association mapping revealed seven candidate genes. For one of the candidate genes, RCI2c, we demonstrated its function in leaf venation patterning.  相似文献

Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) and epistasis for Arabidopsis thaliana aluminum (Al) tolerance were analyzed using a recombinant inbred (RI) population of 100 lines derived from a cross between Landsberg erecta and Columbia (Col). Root growth of the RI population was determined in hydroponics using solutions containing 0 or 4 micro M of AlCl(3 )and a series of nutrients, except P(i), at pH 5.0. Al tolerance was defined as relative root length [RRL: plus Al/minus Al (%)], and the RI lines ranged from 22.6 to 97.4% with a broad sense heritability of 0.99. Using the composite interval mapping method, two significant single factor QTLs (P<0.05) were detected by RRL on chromosomes 1 and 4, where the Col allele showed positive and negative effects on the Al tolerance. These QTLs could explain about 43% of the total variation of Al tolerance among the RI population. On the other hand, five epistatic loci pairs were identified by the complete pair-wise search method (P<0.0005). No single factor QTL and epistatic loci pairs were shared by the root length in the control and the RRL, suggesting that the loci identified by the RRL would be specific for Al treatment and controlling Al tolerance among the RI population.  相似文献

Main effects, epistatic effects and their environmental interactions of QTLs are all important genetic components of quantitative traits. In this study, we analyzed the main effects, epistatic effects of the QTLs, and QTL by environment interactions (QEs) underlying four yield traits, using a population of 240 recombinant inbred lines from a cross between two rice varieties tested in replicated field trials. A genetic linkage map with 220 DNA marker loci was constructed. A mixed linear model approach was used to detect QTLs with main effects, QTLs involved in digenic interactions and QEs. In total, 29 QTLs of main effects, and 35 digenic interactions involving 58 loci were detected for the four traits. Thirteen QTLs with main effects showed QEs; no QE was detected for the QTLs involved in epistatic interactions. The amount of variations explained by the QTLs of main effect were larger than the QTLs involved in epistatic interactions, which in turn were larger than QEs for all four traits. This study illustrates the ability of the analysis to assess the genetic components underlying the quantitative traits, and demonstrates the relative importance of the various components as the genetic basis of yield traits in this population.  相似文献

Lodging is one of the major influencing factors of yield and quality in soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] and other crops. To dissect the genetic basis of lodging in soybean, a recombinant inbred line population consisting of 165 lines was used to evaluate lodging percentage and eight related traits (branch number, internode length, number of nodes, plant height, stem diameter, stem strength, root length, and root weight) in three environments. Regression analysis indicated that plant height and root weight, which explain more than 55% of the variation in lodging percentage, might be the key factors influencing lodging in soybean. Nine consensus quantitative trait locus (QTLs) of lodging percentage were detected in one to three environments. Of which, eight consensus QTLs were colocated with 16 consensus QTLs of lodging-related traits by meta-analysis. In addition, seven candidate genes with the biological functions of shoot branching, root development, internode elongation, and lignin biosynthesis were identified on four pleiotropic QTL regions (oq.13-1, oq.13-2, oq.19-2, and oq.19-3) for lodging percentage and related traits. These findings showed that the consensus QTLs of lodging percentage might result from the pleiotropic QTLs affecting the lodging-related traits. Soybean lodging is determined by the cumulative effect of many traits/processes of growth and development. The combination of MAS, statistical model, and phenotypic selection will provide a powerful breeding strategy for lodging resistance in soybean.  相似文献

Maize silage is a significant energy source for animal production operations, and the efficiency of the conversion of forage into animal mass is an important consideration when selecting cultivars for use as feed. Fiber and lignin are negatively correlated with digestibility of feed, so the development of forage with reduced levels of these cell-wall components (CWCs) is desirable. While variability for fiber and lignin is present in maize germplasm, traditional selection has focused on the yield of the ear rather than the forage quality of the whole plant, and little information is available concerning the genetics of fiber and lignin. The objectives of this study were to map quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for fiber and lignin in the maize stalk and compare them with QTLs from other populations. Stalk samples were harvested from 191 recombinant inbred lines (RILs) of B73 (an inbred line with low-to-intermediate levels of CWCs) x De811 (an inbred line with high levels of CWCs) at two locations in 1998 and one in 1999 and assayed for neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), and acid detergent lignin (ADL). The QTLs were detected on nine chromosomes, mostly clustered in concordance with the high genetic correlations between NDF and ADF. Adjustment of NDF for ADF and ADF for ADL revealed that most of the variability for CWCs in this population is in ADF. Many of the QTLs detected in this study have also been detected in other populations, and several are linked to candidate genes for cellulose or starch biosynthesis. The genetic information obtained in this study should be useful to breeding efforts aimed at improving the quality of maize silage.  相似文献

Yield-related QTLs and Their Applications in Rice Genetic Improvement   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Grain yield is one of the most important indexes in rice breeding, which is governed by quantitative trait loci (QTLs).Different map-ping populations have been used to explore the QTLs controlling yield related traits.Primary populations such as F 2 and recombi-nant inbred line populations have been widely used to discover QTLs in rice genome-wide,with hundreds of yield-related QTLs detected.Advanced populations such as near isogenic lines (NILs) are efficient to further fine-map and clone target QTLs.NILs for primarily identified QTLs have been proposed and confirmed to be the ideal population for map-based cloning. To date,20 QTLs directly affecting rice grain yield and its components have been cloned with NIL-F 2 populations, and 14 new grain yield QTLs have been validated in the NILs.The molecular mechanisms of a continuously increasing number of genes are being unveiled, which aids in the understanding of the formation of grain yield.Favorable alleles for rice breeding have been ’mined’ from natural cultivars and wild rice by association analysis of known functional genes with target trait performance.Reasonable combination of favorable alleles has the potential to increase grain yield via use of functional marker assisted selection.  相似文献

Seed dormancy (SD) is an important agronomic trait affecting crop yield and quality. In this study, one rice population of recombinant inbred lines (RILs) was used to determine the genetic characteristics of SD at the early (4 weeks after heading), middle (5 weeks after heading) and late (6 weeks after heading) development stages. The level of SD decreased with the process of seed development, and the SD was significantly affected by the heading date (HD) and temperature at the early and middle development stages. A total of eight additive quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for SD were identified at three development stages, and more QTLs were expressed at the early and late development stages. Among them, four, one and three additive QTLs were identified at the early, middle and late development stages, respectively. Epistatic QTLs and QTL-by-development interactions were detected by the joint analysis of multi-development phenotypic values, and one additive and two epistatic QTLs were identified. The phenotypic variation of SD explained by each additive, epistatic QTL and QTL × development interaction ranged from 8.0 to 13.5 %, 0.7 to 3.9 % and 1.3 to 2.8 %, respectively. One major QTL qSD7.1 for SD was tightly linked to the major QTL qHD7.4 for HD, which might be applied to reveal the relationship of SD and HD. By comparing chromosomal positions of these additive QTLs with those previously identified, five additive QTLs qSD1.1, qSD2.1, qSD2.2, qSD4.1 and qSD4.2 might represent novel genes. The best three cross combinations for the development of RIL populations were predicted to improve SD. The selected RILs and the identified QTLs might be applicable to improve the rice pre-harvest sprouting tolerance by the marker-assisted selection approach.  相似文献

Starch paste viscosity properties are widely used as important indicators for quality estimation in waxy maize. To elucidate the genetic basis of paste viscosity characteristics of waxy maize, seven parameters from the rapid visco analyzer (RVA) profile were analyzed for quantitative trait loci (QTLs) in this study, using a recombinant inbred line population derived from a cross between the inbred lines Tongxi5 and Hengbai522. A high-density linkage map was constructed using 2703 bin markers, covering 1876.20 cM of the whole genome with an average genetic distance of 0.73 cM between adjacent bin markers. Seventy-two QTLs were detected for RVA parameters across 3 years, of which 17 could be identified in 2 years, and 6 identified in all 3 years. Eight QTL clusters were observed to be co-associated with two or more RVA parameters. Three major QTLs, qPV4-1, qTV4-1, and qFV5-2, which explained over 10% of the phenotypic variation, were stably mapped to the chromosomes 4 or 5 in all years. Based on functional annotations, two genes were considered as potential candidate genes for the identified major QTLs. The QTLs and candidate genes identified in this study will be useful for further understanding of the genetic architecture of starch paste viscosity characteristics in waxy maize, and may facilitate molecular breeding for grain quality improvement in breeding programs, and simultaneously provide a basis for cloning of the genes underlying these QTLs.  相似文献

With the development of genetic maps and the identification of the most-likely positions of quantitative trait loci (QTLs) on these maps, molecular markers for lodging resistance can be identified. Consequently, marker-assisted selection (MAS) has the potential to improve the efficiency of selection for lodging resistance in a breeding program. This study was conducted to identify genetic loci associated with lodging resistance, plant height and reaction to mycosphaerella blight in pea. A population consisting of 88 recombinant inbred lines (RILs) was developed from a cross between Carneval and MP1401. The RILs were evaluated in 11 environments across the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, Canada in 1998, 1999 and 2000. One hundred and ninety two amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers, 13 random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers and one sequence tagged site (STS) marker were assigned to ten linkage groups (LGs) that covered 1,274 centi Morgans (cM) of the pea genome. Six of these LGs were aligned with the previous pea map. Two QTLs were identified for lodging resistance that collectively explained 58% of the total phenotypic variation in the mean environment. Three QTLs were identified each for plant height and resistance to mycosphaerella blight, which accounted for 65% and 36% of the total phenotypic variation, respectively, in the mean environment. These QTLs were relatively consistent across environments. The AFLP marker that was associated with the major locus for lodging resistance was converted into the sequence-characterized amplified-region (SCAR) marker. The presence or absence of the SCAR marker corresponded well with the lodging reaction of 50 commercial pea varieties.Communicated by H. F. Linskens  相似文献

Much remains unknown of molecular events controlling the plant hypersensitive defense response (HR), a rapid localized cell death that limits pathogen spread and is mediated by resistance (R-) genes. Genetic control of the HR is hard to quantify due to its microscopic and rapid nature. Natural modifiers of the ectopic HR phenotype induced by an aberrant auto-active R-gene (Rp1-D21), were mapped in a population of 3,381 recombinant inbred lines from the maize nested association mapping population. Joint linkage analysis was conducted to identify 32 additive but no epistatic quantitative trait loci (QTL) using a linkage map based on more than 7000 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Genome-wide association (GWA) analysis of 26.5 million SNPs was conducted after adjusting for background QTL. GWA identified associated SNPs that colocalized with 44 candidate genes. Thirty-six of these genes colocalized within 23 of the 32 QTL identified by joint linkage analysis. The candidate genes included genes predicted to be in involved programmed cell death, defense response, ubiquitination, redox homeostasis, autophagy, calcium signalling, lignin biosynthesis and cell wall modification. Twelve of the candidate genes showed significant differential expression between isogenic lines differing for the presence of Rp1-D21. Low but significant correlations between HR-related traits and several previously-measured disease resistance traits suggested that the genetic control of these traits was substantially, though not entirely, independent. This study provides the first system-wide analysis of natural variation that modulates the HR response in plants.  相似文献
