Obesity is considered as a risk factor for chronic health diseases such as heart diseases, cancer and diabetes 2. Reduced physical activities, lifestyle, poor nutritional diet and genetics are among the risk factors associated with the development of obesity. In recent years, several studies have explored the link between the gut microbiome and the progression of diseases including obesity, with the shift in microbiome abundance and composition being the main focus. The alteration of gut microbiome composition affects both nutrients metabolism and specific gene expressions, thereby disturbing body physiology. Specifically, the abundance of fibre-metabolizing microbes is associated with weight loss and that of protein and fat-metabolizing bacteria with weight gain. Various internal and external factors such as genetics, maternal obesity, mode of delivery, breastfeeding, nutrition, antibiotic use and the chemical compounds present in the environment are known to interfere with the richness of the gut microbiota (GM), thus influencing weight gain/loss and ultimately the development of obesity. However, the effectiveness of each factor in potentiating the shift in microbes’ abundance to result in significant changes that can lead to obesity is not yet clear. In this review, we will highlight the factors involved in shaping GM, their influence on obesity and possible interventions. Understanding the influence of these factors on the diversity of the GM and how to improve their effectiveness on disease conditions could be keys in the treatment of metabolic diseases.  相似文献

Negative potassium balance during hypokinesia (decreased number of kilometers taken/day) is not based on the potassium shortage in the diet, but on the impossibility of the body to retain potassium. To assess this hypothesis, we study the effect of potassium loading on athletes during prolonged hypokinesia (HK). Studies were done during 30 d of a pre-HK period and during 364 d of an HK period. Forty male athletes aged 23–26 yr were chosen as subjects. They were divided equally into four groups: unloaded ambulatory control subjects (UACS), unloaded hypokinetic subjects (UHKS), loaded hypokinetic subjects (LHKS), and loaded ambulatory control subjects (LACS). For the simulation of the hypokinetic effect, the LHKS and UHKS groups were kept under an average running distance of 1.7 km/d. In the LACS and LHKS groups, potassium loading tests were done by administering 95.35 mg KC1 per kg body weight. During the pre-HK and HK periods and after KC1 loading tests, fecal and urinary potassium excretion, sodium and chloride excretion, plasma potassium, sodium and chloride concentration, and potassium balance were measured. Plasma renin activity (PRA) and plasma aldosterone concentration was also measured. Negative potassium balance increased significantly (p < -0.01) in the UHKS and LHKS groups when compared with the UACS and LACS groups. Plasma electrolyte concentration, urinary electrolyte excretion, fecal potassium excretion, PRA, and PA concentration increased significantly (p ≤ 0.01) in the LHKS and UHKS groups when compared with LACS and UACS groups. Urinary and fecal potassium excretion increased much more and much faster in the LHKS group than in the UHKS group. By contrast, the corresponding parameters change insignificantly in the UACS and LACS groups when compared with the base line control values. It was concluded that urinary and fecal potassium excretion increased significantly despite the presence of negative potassium balance; thus, negative potassium balance may not be based on potassium shortage in the diet because of the impossibility of the body to retain potassium during HK.  相似文献

The Stockholm Pregnancy and Weight Development Study is a prospective study of body weight changes in women, whose maternity unit charts were reviewed and who were then invited for a 1-year follow-up, including weigh-in sessions and questionnaires on dietary habits, physical activity and socio-demographic factors. Total weight gain during pregnancy was related to weight gain already during the first trimester. Women reporting previous weight cycling had slightly higher weight gain during pregnancy. Successful return towards pre-pregnancy weight was found more often in women with regular breakfast and lunch habits. Lactation had only a small effect on weight loss after delivery, independent of eating habits. Lack of physical activity was more common in women who had low lactation scores. Twenty-eight percent reported an increased interest in sweets during pregnancy; these women increased 1 to 2 kg more than others in weight during pregnancy. Postpartum weight retention was more affected by lifestyle changes during and after pregnancy than by factors before pregnancy.  相似文献

In the course of laboratory experiment, parameters of 90Sr and 137Cs excretion were estimated in individuals of bank vole Clethrionomys glareolus, captured at one of the most contaminated sites of the Chernobyl zone. The animals were kept under laboratory conditions using "clean" feed during 50 days. The similar investigation was carried out with laboratory mice Mus musculus (Big Blue line) during a longer period (184 days). The measurements of 90Sr content in the animals' body were in vivo carried out, using a specially designed beta-spectrometer with appropriate software, and 137Cs one--by the gamma-spectrometer. During the experiment, the animals had lost less 0.4% of activity due to physical decay of radionuclides. The organism was depurated mainly through biological excretion. In accordance with parameters of one-component exponential decay equation, 99.3% of 137Cs initial content in vole was excreted with half-life period of 2.18 days, and mice--4.4 days (99%). 90Sr excretion had longer half-life period: 11.7 days (56%) in voles, and 49.9 days (87%) in laboratory mice. The rest radionuclides amount of given model was considered as non-excreted from the organism during the observation period. It was determined on the example of voles that 90Sr and 137Cs loss in males was faster than in females, and among females more intensive excretion was in lactating females. 137Cs excretion from the body of bank vole is mainly with urine (74.7%), whereas 90Sr one--with feces and urine in approximately equal amounts. Due to the birth of babies and consequent feeding female lose appreciably less amount of radionuclides body burden than at daily loss with urine and feces.  相似文献

Weight bearing and physical activity are important mechanical stimuli to bone growth and metabolism, and microgravity, such a space flight and/or bed rest, induces bone resorption and bone loss. An increased excretion of urinary Ca, an increased bone resorption and a decreased bone mineral density (BMD) have been observed in bed rest experiment of healthy subjects. Bone resorption markers show the specific circadian rhythms in human. Cross-linked carboxyl-terminal telopeptide of type I collagen (ICTP) and the urinary excretion of deoxypyridinoline (Dpy) are the highest in the early morning and the lowest late at night. Bed rest immobilization might influence these rhythms, due to no mechanical loading with loss of daily life activity. Bone resorption markers in healthy subjects had been compared between before and during bed rest to determine disruption of diurnal rhythms of bone resorption.  相似文献

A diagnosis of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) was made for cerebral masses found at necropsy in two baboons (Papio cynocephalus anubis). Case 1 was an adult (6.18 years old) male baboon that suddenly died during a physical examination as part of a clinical evaluation for a leg lameness. Case 2 was an adult (5.95 years old) female baboon that stopped breathing during anesthesia for an magnetic resonance imaging to evaluate lethargy, weight loss, inappetence, and dilated pupils. Both animals had undergone total body irradiation with cobalt during a research protocol. The incidence of spontaneous brain tumors in nonhuman primates is low, but radiation-induced GBM lesions in rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) have been reported. A definitive diagnosis was made in these cases, using histopathologic criteria of cellular pleomorphism, high mitotic rate, regions of coagulation necrosis, and endothelial proliferation.  相似文献

Role of muscle loss in the age-associated reduction in VO2 max   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6
A progressive decline in maximal O2 consumption (VO2max) expressed traditionally as per kilogram body weight generally occurs with advancing age. To investigate the extent to which this decline could be attributable to the age-associated loss of metabolically active tissue, i.e., muscle, we measured 24-h urinary creatinine excretion, an index of muscle mass, in 184 healthy nonobese volunteers, ages 22-87 yr, from the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging who had achieved a true VO2max during graded treadmill exercise. A positive correlation was found between VO2max and creatinine excretion in both men (r = 0.64, P less than 0.001) and women (r = 0.47, P less than 0.001). As anticipated, VO2max showed a strong negative linear relationship with age in both men and women. Creatinine excretion also declined with age in men and women. When VO2max was normalized for creatinine excretion, the variance in the VO2max decline attributable to age declined from 60 to 14% in men and from 50 to 8% in women. Thus comparing the standard age regression of VO2max per kilogram body weight with that in which VO2max is normalized per milligram creatinine excretion, the decline in VO2max between a hypothetical 30 yr old and a 70 yr old was reduced from 39 to 18% in men and from 30 to 14% in women. We conclude that in both sexes, a large portion of the age-associated decline in VO2max in non-endurance-trained individuals is explicable by the loss of muscle mass, which is observed with advancing age.  相似文献

Cadmium sulfate x 8/3 H2O (0.3, 0.6, 1.5 and 2.0 mg/kg) administered simultaneously with eosine and bromsulphthalein (120 mumol/kg i.v.) did not significantly change the biliary excretion of the dyes. After a 3 days pretreatment with 2.0 mg/kg CdSO4 i.p. a body weight loss and an increase in the relative liver weight when calculated on body weight were observed together with an enhanced bile flow, but the excretion of the dyes was not markedly influenced. Ethylmorphine N-demethylation and ethoxycoumarin O-deethylation activities as well as microsomal cytochrome P-450 concentration were diminished by about 50%. It can be concluded that in male rats the hepatic microsomal monooxygenase system is more sensitive towards cadmium than the hepatic transport system for organic anions.  相似文献

Well-trained divers can be expected to differ from healthy controls in their ventilatory response to breathing through a tube and to physical exercise. Therefore, we measured their minute ventilation (VE) at rest and during breathing through a tube combined with two levels of physical exercise (1 or 2 W.kg body weight-1). For breathing through a tube an additional dead space of 600 ml was used. All divers were trained in the breath-hold technique and in the use of the breathing apparatus. Their mean period of training as divers was 9 +/- 6 years. The approximate age of the subjects was 25 years. The pattern of breathing and the oxygen uptake were measured by spirometer, the end-tidal concentration of CO2 was measured and all experiments were carried out above sea level. The ventilation of the divers at rest was comparable to that of the controls. During physical exercise it was smaller whether during breathing through a tube or not. The inadequate increase of VE during exercise in divers was associated with hypercapnia only at a higher physical work intensity (of 2 W.kg-1). This finding is interpreted as a lower chemoregulatory response to the combined stimuli of hypercapnia, hypoxia and physical exercise. In some situations significant bradypnoea and higher tidal volumes were found in the divers.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between visceral adipose tissue (VAT), estimated with the Bertin index obtained from dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA), with cardiometabolic risk factors before and after a weight loss program and compare it with VAT measured with computed tomography (CT) scan. The study population for this analysis included 92 nondiabetic overweight and obese sedentary postmenopausal women (age: 58.1 ± 4.7 years, BMI: 31.8 ± 4.2 kg/m(2)) participating in a weight loss intervention that consisted of a caloric restricted diet with and without resistance training (RT). We measured (i) VAT using CT scan, (ii) body composition (using DXA) from which the Bertin index was calculated, (iii) cardiometabolic risk factors such as insulin sensitivity (using the hyperinsulinenic-euglycemic clamp technique), peak oxygen consumption, blood pressure, plasma lipids, C-reactive protein as well as fasting glucose and insulin. VAT levels for both methods significantly decreased after the weight loss intervention. Furthermore, no differences in VAT levels between both methods were observed before (88.0 ± 25.5 vs. 83.8 ± 22.0 cm(2)) and after (76.8 ± 27.8 vs. 73.6 ± 23.2 cm(2)) the weight loss intervention. In addition, the percent change in VAT levels after the weight loss intervention was similar between both methods (-13.0 ± 16.5 vs. -12.5 ± 12.6%). Moreover, similar relationships were observed between both measures of VAT with cardiometabolic risk factors before and after the weight loss intervention. Finally, results from the logistic regression analysis consistently showed that fat mass and lean body mass were independent predictors of pre- and post-VAT levels for both methods in our cohort. In conclusion, estimated visceral fat levels using the Bertin index may be able to trace variations of VAT after weight loss. This index also shows comparable relationships with cardiometabolic risk factors when compared to VAT measured using CT scan.  相似文献

In experiences on 108 male rats, the effect of acute (immobilization during 3 hrs) and chronic (immobilization for 3 hrs during 5 days) stresses on the organism general stability was studied as evaluated with changes of body weight, adrenal glands, spleen, thymus relative mass, gastric mucosa state, animals physical endurance. Chronic stress evoked more obvious decreasing of spleen and thymus relative mass than the acute one, as well as lesion of gastric mucosa accompanied with decrease of the rat resistance to physical loading. Thyroid function suppression by merkazolil (1.2 mg/100 g body weight during 14 days) promotes further the reduction of the organism stability in acute and, especially, in chronic stress, while physiological doses of thyroid hormones (5.0-8.0 mcg of thyroxin on kg of body weight during 28 days), on the contrary, increased it in both stress conditions. Existence of the organism stability dependence on thyroid status both in acute and chronic stress proves iodothyronine's important role in the organism antistress-system.  相似文献

A possible function of laryngeal air sacs in apes and gibbons was investigated by examining the relationships between air sac distribution, call rate, call duration and body weight in a phylogenetic context. The results suggest that lack of sacs in the smaller gibbons and in humans is a derived feature. Call parameters in primates, such as rate and duration, scaled to resting breathing rate (and therefore to body weight) only in species without air sacs, which appear to modify these relationships. Apes and larger gibbons may be able to produce fast extended call sequences without the risk of hyperventilating because they can re-breathe exhaled air from their air sacs. Humans may have lost air sacs during their evolutionary history because they are able to modify their speech breathing patterns and so reduce any tendency to hyperventilate.  相似文献

Population-based data have not been readily available on relatively short-term changes in weight. Therefore, we sought to determine the nature of self-reported substantial (> 10%) weight change over one year in a representative sample of the US population which participated in the 1989 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS). Across all ages, a larger proportion of women than men reported both weight loss as well as weight gain of any amount (18.9% vs. 16.1% for weight loss and 20.0% vs. 16.1% for weight gain). In sex-specific logistic regression analyses, significant risk factors common to both sexes for substantial weight loss included divorced/separated marital status, smoking, increased number of blood pressure checks, increased BMI (body mass index) and increased number of bed days. Black race reduced the risk of weight loss for both men and women. Sex-specific risk factors for weight loss in men only were widowhood or never married marital status, while increasing age was a protective factor in women only. Concerning weight gain > 10% over the past year, increased number of blood pressure checks and having one or more diabetic parents were significant risk factors among both men and women; while never being married, increased age, BMI, and education exerted a protective effect in both sexes. For women only, risk factors for weight gain included black race, increased number of contacts with a health professional, and being unemployed. Intention to lose weight was associated with both weight gain and weight loss in both sexes, although it did not serve as a confounder in any of these relationships. A greater likelihood of substantial weight loss among women relative to men was diminished for persons with higher BMI, higher number of blood pressure checks, being widowed, divorced or separated, and intention to lose weight. A greater likelihood of substantial weight gain among women relative to men was diminished for persons with low BMI. The results of this cross-sectional study of weight change, involving a one-year follow-up period, generally correspond with the results obtained by longitudinal studies involving a longer follow-up.  相似文献

Infant‐carrying behavior among callitrichids seems to be a costly activity. Costs have been related to the physical efforts of carrying the weight of very heavy infants and to the resulting reduction in foraging efficiency. However, the costs of carrying in terms of the physical consequences for carriers have not previously been assessed. In this study, we have regarded weight loss in infant carriers as a measure of costs. We studied five families of cotton‐top tamarins (Saguinus oedipus) during the first 9 weeks following the birth of infants. Captive‐breeding conditions were required so that body weight could be measured frequently. To avoid inflicting undue stress on the subject animals, we used a noninvasive method for weighing the tamarins. Differences in carrying contribution were found amongst fathers and male and female helpers, with female helpers contributing less. We have found that carrying infants in the cotton‐top tamarins is an activity that produces a weight loss. Fathers and male helpers go through a maximal body weight loss. While carrying, the tamarins also decrease food intake. However, no relationship was found between contribution to carrying and feeding time or in energetic intake during feeding observations. Thus, it seems that a direct relation doesn't exist between the observations of feeding and weight loss. Fathers increase their contribution to carrying during mothers' periovulatory periods. In this period, male helpers and especially fathers go through a maximal body weight loss. We found body weight losses of up to 11.3% in one subadult male and 9.1percnt; in a father during the fifth week. No changes occurred in food intake in fathers or other male helpers during this period. During periovulatory periods, mothers carried less frequently but did increase their food intake. They gained weight from the second week after birth onward, especially during the periovulatory period. It seems that the infant‐carrying behavior of fathers and male helpers may contribute to the improvement of the mothers' physical condition after birth and therefore may support a consecutive pregnancy. Hypokinesia (diminished movement) induces significant potassium (K) changes; however, little is known about K deposition and deficiency during hypokinesia (HK). Using K supplements during and after HK, the aim was to establish body K deposition and K deficiency during HK. Studies were done during the pre-HK period of 30 d, HK period of 364 d, and post-HK period of 30 d. Forty male trained athletes aged 24.9 ± 8.0 y were chosen as subjects. They were equally divided into four groups: unsupplemented active control subjects (UACS), unsupplemented hypokinetic subjects (UHKS), supplemented active control subjects (SACS), and supplemented hypokinetic subjects (SHKS). Hypokinetic subjects were limited to an average walking distance of 0.7 km/d. Control subjects ran an average distance of 11.6 km/d. The SHKS and SACS groups took 95.0 mg elemental K/kg body weight daily. Fecal K excretion, urinary sodium (Na) and K excretion, plasma K and Na levels, plasma renin activity (PRA), plasma aldosterone (PA), food and fluid intake, and physical characteristics were measured. During HK, fecal K loss, urinary K and Na loss, and plasma K, Na, PRA, and PA levels increased significantly (p ≤ 0.05), whereas during the initial days of post-HK, the levels of the measured parameters decreased significantly (p ≤ 0.05) in the SHKS and UHKS groups as compared with the SACS and UACS groups, respectively. During HK, body weight, body fat, peak oxygen uptake, food and fluid intake decreased significantly (p ≤ 0.05), whereas during the initial days of post-HK period remained significantly (p ≤ 0.05) depressed and fluid intake increased in SHKS and UHKS groups when compared with the SACS and UACS groups, respectively. However, during HK and post-HK plasma, urinary, and fecal K changed significantly (p ≤ 0.05) more in the SHKS group than in the UHKS group. The deposition of K was significantly (p ≤ 0.05) lower and K deficiency much higher in the SHKS group than in the UHKS group. Fecal K loss, urinary K and Na loss, plasma K, Na, PRA, and PA levels, body weight, body fat, peak oxygen uptake, and food and fluid intake did not change significantly in the SACS and UACS when compared with their baseline control values. It was shown that plasma K concentration and urinary and fecal K excretion increased during HK and decreased significantly (p ≤ 0.05) during post-HK. post-HK. Oral K supplements did not influence plasma or fecal and urinary K either during HK or post-HK. It was concluded that the low plasma K level and fecal and urinary K loss during post-HK may indicate the presence of K deficiency, and increased K in plasma, urine, and feces during HK and in the presence of K deficiency may suggest the body’s inability to retain K during HK.  相似文献

Although weight loss ameliorates many of the metabolic abnormalities associated with obesity, there has been reluctance to prescribe weight loss in obese, older individuals because of the fear that it will cause debilitating loss of muscle mass and impair physical function. To gain insight into the mechanisms responsible for the weight loss-induced changes in muscle mass, we measured the rate of muscle protein synthesis (by using stable isotope labeled tracer methodology) during basal, postabsorptive conditions and during mixed meal ingestion in eight obese, older adults: (i) before weight loss therapy, (ii) ~3 months after starting the weight loss intervention (i.e., during the active weight loss phase), when subjects had lost ~7% of their initial body weight, and (iii) after they had lost ~10% of their body weight and maintained this new body weight for ~6 months (~12 months after starting the weight loss intervention). The basal muscle protein fractional synthesis rate (FSR) was not affected by weight loss. Mixed meal ingestion stimulated the rate of muscle protein synthesis, and the anabolic response (i.e., increase in the protein synthesis rate above basal values) was greater (P < 0.05) during negative energy balance and active weight loss at 3 months (0.033 ± 0.012%·per hour, mean ± s.e.m.) than during weight maintenance before and at 12 months of weight loss therapy (0.003 ± 0.003 and 0.008 ± 0.012%·per hour, respectively). We conclude that during dietary calorie restriction and weight loss in older adults, the rate of muscle protein synthesis is not impaired. Thus, the loss of muscle mass must be mediated predominately by adverse effects of dietary calorie restriction on muscle proteolysis.  相似文献

TREMBLAY, ANGELO, ERIC DOUCET, PASCAL IMBEAULT, PASCALE MAURIÈGE, JEAN-PIERRE DESPRÉS, AND DENIS RICHARD. Metabolic fitness in active reduced-obese individuals. Obes Res. Objective: To verify whether a physical activity-low-fat diet follow-up could normalize the metabolic risk profile of reduced-obese men and women having undergone considerable weight loss through energy restriction and drug therapy. Research Methods and Procedures: Twenty obese individuals (12 men, 8 women) participated in a weight-reducing program that included two phases. In the first phase, a non-macronutrient-specific dietary restriction of about 700 kcal/day was prescribed to induce weight loss over 15 weeks, with either fenfluramine or placebo. The second phase consisted of a physical activity-low-fat diet follow-up that was maintained as long as subjects did not experience resistance to further body weight and fat loss. Resistance to lose fat occurred after a mean cumulative fat loss of 14 and 8 kg in men and women, respectively. Results: Despite this substantial decrease in body fat, subjects' adiposity remained much higher at the end of this protocol than values observed in lean control subjects. However, fasting plasma levels of insulin, cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, and triglyceride as well as the response of insulin and glucose to oral glucose were normalized at the end of the physical activity-low-fat diet follow-up. Discussion: These results indicate that further weight and fat losses may not be justified when a moderate body weight loss resulting in a highly favorable improvement of metabolic risk profile is achieved in patients who would have still been diagnosed as overweight or obese on the basis of criteria currently promoted by public health agencies.  相似文献

The effects of water deprivation, rehydration and hyperhydration were investigated in the black Moroccan goat (Capra hircus). Mean daily water intake was 46 ± 5 ml/kg in lactating and 36 ± 4 ml/kg in non-lactating black Moroccan goats, and milk production 21 ± 1 ml/kg. Mean urine excretion was 8 ± 2 ml/kg body weight in both groups, and the daily water losses via evaporation and feces were estimated at 23 ± 3 ml/kg during lactation and 28 ± 4 ml/kg during non-lactation. Forty-eight hours of water deprivation caused a body weight loss of 9% and 6% in lactating and non-lactating goats, respectively, and a drop of 28% in milk production with only a slight decrease in food intake. After rehydration, the elevated plasma osmolality as well as Na and total protein concentrations returned to basal values within 2–3 hr, indicating a rapid absorption of the ingested water, but urine excretion did not increase. After hyperhydration (10% of body weight), 46% of the load was excreted by the kidneys within 6 hr. In conclusion, black Moroccan goats have a low water turnover, and they can retain water upon rehydration but not store excess water after hyperhydration.  相似文献

We have been attempting to confirm the hypothesis that the excretion ratio of nicotinamide metabolites, [N1-methyl-2-pyridone-5-carboxamide (2-Py) + N1-methyl-4-pyridone-3-carboxamide (4-Py)]/N1-methylnicotinamide (MNA), reflects the adequacy of amino acid nutrition, but not of niacin nutrition. It is known that methionine and threonine supplementation to a protein-free diet reduced body weight loss. In this paper, we investigated whether rats fed with a protein free-diet supplemented with methionine and threonine would result in this excretion ratio being increased or not. The body weight loss was markedly reduced by the supplementation with both amino acids, as has been reported, and under the conditions, the excretion ratio significantly increased. The activity of 4-Py-forming MNA oxidase, which controls the change in excretion ratio, also increased significantly. From the present results and our previous results, it was proved that the excretion ratio of nicotinamide metabolites, (2-Py +4-Py)/MNA, reflects the adequacy of amino acid nutrition, but not of niacin nutrition.  相似文献

Objective: We studied the effect of weight reduction on cardiac parasympathetic activity (PSA) in obese women. We also studied the relationship between the changes of PSA, resting energy expenditure (REE), and major cardiovascular risk factors. Research Methods and Procedures: Changes of cardiac vagal tone, an index of PSA, REE, and major cardiovascular risk factors, were measured in 52 healthy obese women after a 6‐month weight reduction. Ten of the women were remeasured at 12 and 24 months. Cardiac vagal tone was assessed by a vagal tone monitor and REE by indirect calorimeter. Results: Cardiac vagal tone increased significantly (p = 0.046), averaging a 9.5% weight loss in 6 months. The vagal tone increased further with weight loss during the following 6 months, and thereafter, it declined with weight regain. The increase of cardiac vagal tone correlated significantly with decreases of body weight, fat mass, waist circumference, serum insulin, and heart rate. REE adjusted for fat‐free mass and age did not change with weight loss and was not related to cardiac vagal tone at any time‐point. Discussion: Cardiac PSA activity increases with weight loss in obese women. This increase may not be maintained long‐term if body weight is regained. The rise of cardiac PSA is correlated with decreases of body fat mass, abdominal fat, serum insulin, and heart rate. Cardiac PSA is not related to REE.  相似文献
