| Abstract: | Optimal incubation times and temperatures were determined for populations of psychrophilic and psychrotrophic bacteria from a seasonally cold ocean. The application of conventional pragmatic criteria did not differentiate the two populations, although they could be distinguished by growth at two temperatures. |
