| Abstract: | Lon- mutants of Escherichia coli K-12 are deficient in the inheritance of F-plasmids by conjugation. This deficiency is distinct from the conjugation deficiency caused by overproduction of capsular polysaccharide which decreases donor-recipient pair formation. |
