Abstract: | The effects of high static magnetic fields (HSMF) on growth and development of young rats were investigated, in which the young rats were exposed twice to 10 T HSMF for 30 min at 10th and 20th day after birth, respectively. The results showed that HSMF did not change the body weight and length of rats, nor the red blood cell count and the weights of some organs such as heart, liver, spleen, kidneys, brain, hypophysis and sexual glands, but increased the weight of adrenal and the count of white blood cells significantly compared with the control group. It suggested that 10T HSMF might result in stress response and leukocytosis without affecting the growth and development of rats. |
