| Abstract: | Insect collections are the entities of curation, scientific research and education on insect specimens. They stand for the development level of a nation or a region, concerning with the investigation of insect biodiversity, revealing evolutionary laws of insects,serving the economical development. Insect systematics is closely dependent on the development of insect collections. This paper describes the functions and roles of insect collections, details the importance and urgency of insect collection development, looks into the future of insect systematics and the chances of insect systematics in China. |
