Abstract:Floral neetary of Codonopsis pilosula Nannf were studied with light and electron microscopy. It belongs to disc-nectary and is composed of epidermis and necteriferous as well as vascular bundle. The surface of epidermis is covered with thick cuticle which has small pores in the specific portion. During the development of nectariferous tissue, the granular substances of nucleus and vacuole occured regular change. Vascular bundle extend into nectary tissue, the former only consists of phloem and accompanied with multi-nuclear latiferous. There are abundant mitochondria, vesicles and endoplasmic retieulum in mature ultrastructure nectary, which are related to nectar secretion. According to the ultrastructural characteristics, we inquired into the concentrated arena of pre-nectar and the possible way of transportation as well as the secretory method of nectar.
