Mandibular and maxillary anesthesia; uses of the conduction technique
Authors:SELTSAM J H
Abstract:A series of techniques for obtaining specific nerve-block anesthesia of the oral cavity and jaws is examined in relationship to the anatomical site to be anesthetized, whether for operation or diagnosis. This method of anesthesia is considered superior to the field-block approach-that is, the general diffusion of anesthetic agent through or about the proposed operative site. The final goal of a surgeon using local anesthesia is the gaining of specific nerve-block anesthesia as a prelude to operation.
