Abstract: | The present study was concerned with the relationship between antimetabolites and Trichomonas vaginalis. In all of the strains (with p-nitrobenzylether of N-acetyldiiodtryrosine) tested, the growth of Trichomonas vaginalis was identical to that of the control series at concentrations up to 2 mg/ml. At higher concentrations a decrease in multiplication was noted. In the experimental series with antitrypsin, from 1 mg/ml produced an inhibiting effect upon the Trichomonas population. Further investigations on the combined inhibition test are envisaged. |
