| Abstract: | How do neural stem cells ensure that they give rise to the right number and type of neurons at the right time? Over the past year several regulatory mechanisms have been identified, including promotion of neurogenesis by proneural bHLH genes, instruction of gliogenesis by Notch, and cell-intrinsic changes in the neurogenic capacity of stem cells in culture and in vivo. |
