| Abstract: | he Third Military Medical University)Two JEV-vaccinia recombinants J1 and J3 were engineered for expression of the JEVantigens. Both J1 and J3 contained the E,NS1 and NS2A genes,J3 had the PrM gene inaddition to the above three genes. Indirect immunofluorescent assay revealed that J1 and J3expressed JEV antigens in recombinant-infected BHK cells. Immunization of 15-day-oldmice with the recombinants resulted in immune response to JEV. Mice vaccinated with J3produced both hemagglutinin-inhibiting and virus-neutralizing antibodies to JEV and showedincreased resistance to JEV chanllenge;while J1 had no such effects.Therefore PrM gene of J3played an important role in inducing protective immune response. |
