Abstract:The biosorption of Pb 2 from solution by Phanerochaete chrysosporium was studied. The effects on biosorption capacity of pH, Pb 2 concentration in solution, co ion and temperature, time have been examined. The adsorption capacity was compared among the biomass harvested at various growth stages. Pretreatment of biomass by NaOH solution improved its adsorption capacity. The uptake could reach 108.4mg/g at optimal conditions of biosorption using pretreated biomass.
