| Abstract: | Summary Large scale electrodialysis was used to isolate and purify either sodium lactate or free lactic acid from the fermentation broth. In the best cases a four fold concentration was achieved. To obtain a product of a high purity, decolourization followed by a double exchange reaction is recommended. |
