| Abstract: | The paper reviewed the progress of study on secondary wall formation in plants, including the main experimental systems, methods, technologies used in the studies, and molecular architecture of secondary wall, the role of cytoskeleton, phytohormone, Ca2+ and calmodulin in the secondary wall formation. Furthermore, the
relationship between the secondary wall formation and programmed cell death (PCD) was discussed. |
