Biosafe Marker Genes and Their Novel Approaches

With large amount of transgenic plants being commercialized,people feel uneasy about the potential risks of transgenic plants to environment,human health and ethics.The biosafety of marker genes has becoming a common concern. The novel marker genes should be able to screen and identify transformational cells,and be friendly to environment and organisms as well.In this paper,several biosafe marker genes including GFP,rtl,pmi,xylA and hemL were briefly introduced and their novel approaches were discussed.;
