Abstract:The relationship between phosphorylation and activity of plasma membrane H+ ATPase(PM H+ ATPase)in the in vivo treatments of auxin (IAA) and chlorpromazine(CPZ)has been investigated.The study shows that IAA not only improves the level of PM H+ ATPase phosphorylation but also induces its activity.On the other hand,CPZ inhibits the activity of PM H+ ATPase and its phosphorylation level at the same time.Statistical analysis demonstrates that an extremely positive correlation exists between the level of phosphorylation and the activity of PM H+ ATPase.These results suggest that the activity of PM H+ ATPase is regulated by its phosphorylation.
