Abstract:The kinetic constants for the inhibition of Narcine timlei acetylcholinesterase by Sarin and Soman were studied. The K m value for the interaction of Ach I with AChE was 4 40×10 -5 mol·L -1 . The v 0 was equal to 0.00352 s -1 ( A 412 nm value per second). And the dissociation, phosphorylation and bimolecular reaction constants were determined for inhibition of Narcine timlei acetylcholinesterase by Sarin and Soman in the presence of substrate. They were respectively: K i: 17.24×10 7 and 2 54×10 7 mol -1 ·L·min -1 , K d: 4.28×10 -8 and 4.02×10 -7 mol·L -1 , K 2 : 7.38 and 10.22 min -1 . The results indicated that the affinity and inhibitory power of Soman were higher than of Sarin. This may be one of the factors contributing to the difference in toxicity between them.
