| Abstract: | The present paper deals with the classification and nomenclature of fossil dispersed cuticles. The first paragraph makes a brief discussion on he significance of dispersed cuticles in stratigraphy, paleontology and paleoenvirnoment. In order to reach a common understanding for some terms, which have not always been used in quite the same way, the definition of these terms are also discussed, such as stoma, stomatal complex, guard cells, subsidiary cells, neighboring cells, surrounding cells, encircling cells, etc. |
