| Abstract: | Some important microbial steroid biotransformations such as side chain cleavage and hydroxylation were reviewed, including their mechanism, development and applications. The applications of microbial cell immobilization, enzymatic catalysis in nonaqueous solvents and mixed culture in pharmaceutical industry were highlighted. |
