Model of the firing frequency of the chelonian muscle spindle

A model is proposed for the frequency of firing of the chelonian muscle spindle in response to mechanical stretches. First an attempt is made to fit the response to a first and second order model and, after incorporating the encoding properties of the spindle, a simulation is obtained which predicts in terms of the instantaneous frequency of firing the response of the spindle to ramp and sinusoidal mechanical stretches.
