肝素是一种常见的抗凝药，临床治疗和动物试验中发现肝素还具有抗肿瘤转移的作用，能显著提高肿瘤患者的生存率。在肝素多种抗肿瘤相关的生物活性中，竞争性抑制P选择素介导的肿瘤细胞的黏附作用最为关键，决定了肝素抗肿瘤转移能力的大小，这种与肝素的抗凝机制不同。通过对肝素分子基团进行化学修饰可以消除其副作用的危险，得到具有抗肿瘤转移活性的肝素衍生物。

Inhibition of P-selectin Mediated Tumor Metastasis by Heparin

Heparin is one of common anticoagulant medicines. Both clinically and experimentally, heparin has exhibited multiple anti-tumor functions, for instance, anti-metastasis, thus improving survival rate. Of the multiple anti-tumor functions of heparin, adhesive function by competitively inhibiting p-selectin is the most important factor, determining the effect of heparin on anti-tumor metastasis. The mechanism of anti-tumor metastasis of heparin is different from that of anticoagulant heparin. Modification of heparin can reduce side-effects, leading to heparin derivatives with metastasis inhibitory activities.
