Abstract:The absorption and fluorescence spectral properties of hypocrellin A(HA) bound to egg phosphatidylcholine (EPO) liposomes were studied and compared with those in organic solvents. It indicates that HA in bilayer remains its initial structure. It has been shown that the location and the intensity of fluorescence are related to the concentrations of HA. EPC and the pH of the buffer solution.The binding constant of HA to lipid membrane was measured to be 7.01(mg/ml)-1. HA was found to be mainly partitioned on the surface of the lipid membrane as demonstrated by fluorescence quenching experiments.
