Abstract:Double infection of Escherichia coli by two DNA phages (phi X174 and T5) resulted in encapsidation into T5 particles of T5 DNA containing linked fragments of phi X174 DNA. The phi X474 sequences in T5 "hybrid" DNA were detected by RNA-DNA hybridization.
