Abstract: | Prostaglandins E2 and D2 were both converted to prostaglandin F2α (9α, 11α) by an enzyme present in sheep blood. Neither the 9β, 11α epimer nor the 9α, 11β epimer was produced from PGE2 or PGD2 respectively. The rate of reduction was measured using isotope dilution (D4 PGF2α) and multiple-ion detection gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. |
