Abstract:In order to explore the effect pre-natal multimedia health education on cesarean delivery rate, delivery process and delivery outcome, in this study we selected 200 cases of pregnant women received by prenatal routine examination, among them 100 cases who underwent routine prenatal guidance(control group) and 100 cases of pregnant women received with multimedia instruction of prenatal health education based on a regular basis(Observation group),and the follow-up visits were carried out until the delivery end. We observed the differences of pregnant women’s delivery process, delivery mode, delivery outcome in two groups. The results showed that 1 case of spontaneous abortion occurred in the observation group and 2 cases in the control group. The phases of latency and activity as well as the first and second stages of delivery process in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(p<0.05), and the difference between the third stage of delivery process in the observation group and the control group was not statistically significant(p>0.05);while the cesarean section rate of 14.14%in the observation group was significantly lower than that of 27.55% in the control group(p<0.05). Apgar score at1 min and 5 min between the two groups was not statistically significant(p>0.05);whereas the complication rate of childbirth related in the complication group was 3.03% lower than that in the control group(11.22%, p<0.05). Our preliminary study showed that multimedia health education should be beneficial to reduce the rate of cesarean section, shorten the delivery process and reduce the complications of delivery.
Keywords:Multimedia health education  Cesarean section rate  Delivery process  Delivery outcome
