Abstract: | The ground and excited states dipole moments and the second order hyperpolarizabilities of a series of oxazolinyl-ferrocenyl derivatives have been measured. After complexation of the oxazoline group with a second metal ion, the new bimetallic complexes show an increased hyperpolarizability, as determined by the EFISHG technique. A copolymer of the same bimetallic complex with methyl methacrylate has been synthesized, and the second order susceptibility has been measured by second harmonic generation at 1.06µm. |
