P Chemical shift anisotropies of dihalobis(trialkylphosphine)nickel(II) complexes

Abstract:The 31P CP-MAS NMR spectra of trans-square-planar complexes of dihalonickel(II) complexes with tribenzyl-, tricyclohexyl- and tricyclohexylmethylphosphines have been examined and the chemical shift tensors determined. The spans, δ11-δ33, of the tensor components decrease with change in the halide, Cl > Br > I, for all the tertiary phosphines due principally to the deshielding of the δ33 component.
