| Abstract: | Abstract The synthesis of 2-nitro-1-[(2-hydroxyethoxy)methyl]imidazole, the acyclonucleoside analogue of antibiotic azomycin (azomycin acyclonucleoside), is accomplished via alkylation of azomycin with 2-benzoyloxyethoxymethylene chloride followed by debenzoylation. |
