Abstract: | ![]() Summary A strain of Trichophyton mentagrophytes, [E. simii, Pinoy 1912; Pinoyella simii (Pinoy) Castellani and Chalmers, 1919], virulent for man, was isolated from a monkey. This fungus is a typical species of Trichophyton, and the report of ascospore production in a strain of similar origin was apparently based upon a misinterpretation of the macroconidia. |
