Abstract: | Khuskia oryzae Hudson was consistently isolated from ginger plants with a severe leaf spot disease, and its pathogenicity confirmed experimentally. All available commercial ginger selections were found to be susceptible to the disease in field and glasshouse trials, selection Gl being the most susceptible. In chemical control trials in the field, iprodione and a mixture of benomyl, mancozeb and soluble boron gave the best control. Soil fumigation with hot methyl bromide also reduced disease. |
