The influence of sand on the estimation of resting metabolic rate of juvenile sole, Solea solea (L.)

Abstract:The influence of a sandy substrate on the estimation of the resting metabolic rate of juvenile sole was determined using a static type of respirometer. Oxygen consumption of fish deprived of sand was almost double that of fish provided with sand.
