Abstract: | ![]() Sea urchin histones can be separated from ribosomal proteins by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Electrophoresis on Triton X-100/6 m urea gels in the first dimension results in preferential retardation of the histones, which then migrate more rapidly than ribosomal contaminants on SDS gel electrophoresis in the second dimension. The advantages and generality of the system are discussed. |
