| Abstract: | A new ABC-ELISA method was developed to assess the titer of NDV Lasota strain, Mukteswar strain(I)and virurent NDV in cell culture. The sensitivity of ABC-ELISA was 2-16 times and 4-64 times higher than that of conventional ELISA and HA tests respectively. In testing NDV in oral and cloacal swabs, positive detection rates of ABC-ELISA were 83.3% and 100% respectively, being 16.7% and 33.3% higher than that of conventional ELISA. Positive detection was not obtained by HA test.The specificity of ABC-ELISA was excellent. Its reactivity could be stopped by specific antibody or avidin, and no cross reaction with infectious bronchitis virus, avianpox virus, duck plague virus was noted. This method proved to be reproducible, its results were almost identical when the same sample was assayed several times in different periods. |
