Abstract: | The seedling response to high Cu concentrations (1 and 10 μM CuSO4 . 5 H2O) was studied in Aegilops triuncialis, Ae. geniculata, Ae. cylindrica and Haynaldia villosa. The negative effect of Cu on the root growth was recorded at both concentrations, while the shoot growth was inhibited at
10 μM. The most tolerant was Ae. triuncialis, followed by Ae. geniculata. Ae. cylindrica and H. villosa were more sensitive.
