The carpal boss: surgical treatment and etiological considerations. |

| Abstract: | We report on 30 symptomatic cases of carpal boss which were treated surgically. The condition represents a highly localized degenerative arthritis at the base of the middle metacarpal, and is seen primarily in relatively young patients. Symptomatic relief was obtained by excision of degenerated tissue in all these patients. |
