Abstract:This paper deals with the histogenesis of the flower and inflorescence of Tritieum aestivum L., In Triticum, the Structure of the reproductive growth tip is Similar to that of the vegetative growth tip, both of which are composed of a twolayered tunica and corpus.Bract primordia arise in the same manner as the foliage leaf, i.e. arise by Perielinal divisions of the dermatogen and the second-layer cells; spikelet primordia are initiated in periclinal divisions of the third-layer cells, therefore the origin mode of the spikelet primordia is comparable with that of axillary buds. In the differentiation of the spikelet, the glumes and lemmas also arise in the same manner as the foliage leaf and the flower primordia the same as the spikelets. In the differentiation of the flower primordia, the early histogenesis of the pales, lodicules and carpel is also essentially similar to that of the foliage leaf, whilst the stamens arise like the spikelet and flower primordia. The ovule is derived directly from the apex of the flower Primordia and the integument originate in the manner of foliaga Structures.On the basis of these observations, the floral morphology of the Gramineae is discussed.
