Abstract: | Summary Cot and chemical analysis show that the haploid genome size of Thermobia domestica is 3–4×109 nucleotide pairs. Of this DNA 33% is single copy sequences and 67% is repetitive sequences. The repetitive sequences are predominantly 300 nucleotides in length and are interspersed among the single copy sequences in a short period interspersion pattern similar to that observed in Xenopus and many other higher eucaryotes. The DNA sequence organization observed in Thermobia is compared with that of other more highly evolved insects.Abbrevations HAP-hydroxyapatite, Cot
