The inhibitory effects of the catecholamines norepinephrine, epinephrine and the β-adrenergic agonist isoproterenol were studied and found to be independent of cellular cyclic AMP levels. Glucose counteracted the inhibitory effects observed at high concentrations of the agents employed whereas 2-deoxyglucose abolished the glucose effect. |
