Abstract: | 1. Glucose-6-phosphatase (EC 3.1.3.9 D-glucose-6-phosphate phosphohydrolase) was found to be localized mainly in the endoplasmic reticulum (microsomal fraction) of all species of vertebrate liver tissue examined. 2. Hepatopancreas tissue from gastropod molluscs was found to be unique in showing the localization of glucose-6-phosphatase in the cytosol (soluble fraction). |
