| Abstract: | The new chromosome number n = 9 has been reported in Nitella mirabilis Nordst. ex. Groves em. R.D.W. Discussing the significance of this new chromosome number with regard to arthrodactylous and anarthrodactylous groups of the genus Nitella, the possible origin of a 9 chromosome form of N. mirabilis due to hybridization has been suggested. |
