| Abstract: | Two new associations belonging to theSalicion silesiacae within theBetulo carpaticae-Alnetea viridis are described. These are disclimax shrub communities dominated bySalix silesiaca at higher altitudes of the Fatra Mts. (Western Carpathians). Synmorphological, synecological, syntaxonomical, syngenetical and synchorological characteristics of the communities are given. Floristic differences between the montane shrub communities in the Western Carpathians and those in the Sudeten Mts. are summarized in a synthetic table. |
