Abstract: | Abstract The sequence and timing of events in the emergence of Uropetala carovei carovei (White) are described. Contrary to published opinion, emergence is shown to be of the ‘upright type’ seen also in the petalurids Tanypteryx pryeri (Selys) and Tachopteryx thoneyi (Hagen). The accuracy of accounts of ‘hanging type’ emergence behaviour in Petalura gigantea Leach and Tanypteryx hageni (Selys) is questioned. |
