Abstract: | The formation of cytochrome P-450 “metabolic intermediate” complexes occurred with acetylmethadol and propoxyphene, but not methadone in both naive and phenobarbital-induced animals. The formation correlated with the relative ability of these three compounds to form metabolic intermediate complexes and inhibit mixed-function oxidation reactions . |
