The relationship between skeletal age and intellectual development of children was studied in 342 6-11 years old children. The findings showed that the IQs in children with a skeletal lag were less than those without such a lag, and that skeletal age was related to mental age. The result suggests that skeletal age, as an index of maturity, may be closely related to the intellectual development of children. |
