| Abstract: | Summary By means of 3H-thymidine and autoradiography it could be established that in rats and mice the A1, A2 and A3 spermatogonia do not give rise to a significant number of stem cells.The number of A0 spermatogonia was found to be circa 20% of the number of A0+A1 spermatogonia in the rat and circa 10% in the mouse.The author wishes to thank Prof. Dr. M.
